The SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring Add-on is an absolute must. The nearfields sound the closest to what I am familiar with. The mid-fields, I feel are great for instrument style mixes like rock bands, folk, etc, and the far fileds make help me visualize how my mix would sound while Djing or in a club, more bass heavy but some frequency cancellations in the upper mid range. The other alternative virtual monitoring features are very unique and sound true to their respecitive devices. Well worth the extra cost!

The SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring Add-On delivers accurate studio simulations for mixing in challenging spaces. Its ability to replicate multiple monitors and environments is impressive, though setup can be a bit tricky without the full SoundID software. Despite this, it’s a powerful tool for achieving reliable, professional results.

Definitely a worthwhile add-on to use headphones to virtually simulate a pair of low-endish near field, high-endish near/mid field, and high-end far-field monitors in stereo. I use the Sennheiser HD650, and normally mix with Mackie HR824. Mixes with the Mackies and the SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring translate very well. Thanks!

I really like the SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring Add-On—it has significantly improved my mixing and mastering decisions when working on headphones. I can’t imagine working without it anymore. However, the price feels too high, especially considering the core product struggled with stability and crashes for years. Offering only a €10 discount on Black Friday also felt underwhelming. This should have been a free update as a goodwill gesture to loyal customers.
