“Reference for Speakers works exactly as advertised. The fact that it isn't difficult to get used to the new frequency response despite how well I know my current speaker/room sound is probably the greatest indication that what SoundID does actually works. It may take a couple calibrations to get right though.
The calibration is easy to do, but you have to make sure to gain the microphone/speakers correctly. At first I gained the speakers too high, and when I returned them to listening level the calibration was flawed. If you gain them too low, the microphone's self noise interferes with the calibration. It's a delicate balance. I only got it right the third time.”
