“I didn’t realize just how unbalanced my low end was with my 5 inch monitors paired with a 10 inch sub. It was like 6 db over the flat line. Now, after SoundID, working on my mixes is less fatiguing and when I translate from one system to the next my low end is more representative. Which is important for me because I make bass heavy music. Also, the included emulations of different listening devices help tremendously for getting a quick translation check between systems. Much faster then what I usually did, which was rendering out each stage of my mix and listening to them with my earbuds, soundbar, then in the car, guessing what I should work on next from the average of all. This makes that process not necessary.”
“This 5 star software only gets a 3 star review because of the non existent email communication and product support. I had problems setting up the interface and integration. No email was answered apart from a generic reply. For the speaker calibration, the set up screen was undersized so as to not to have the mouse click buttons to move through the process. Very frustrating with no support or documentation as to how to solve this. Eventually I figured out it was a sizing problem and adjusted through the Sonarworks program files. On my computer the program is very clunky whilst operating between different speaker comparisons and switching between DAW and browser or media player use. To fix these problems I have to Switch SoundID on or off or switch the DAW on or off. However after eventually getting the speaker calibration to work, the sound improvement in my semi sound treated studio is great!”

Even though it's been a while since you posted your review, we wanted to follow up with some updates.
As you mentioned in your review that you have encountered some sleep state issues with SoundID Reference, I wanted to let you know that we have recently released a new SoundID Reference beta version (v5.7.3) which includes a major rework of the macOS driver and aims to resolve various issues such as sleep/idle-time problems and the SoundID Reference virtual device disappearing from the output list. We have been working on these improvements for a while now and we hope that the product experience is greatly improved for our macOS users.
