“Fairly simple process. I use only 70% blend of the calibration, as that gives me the flat response but allows my HD800'S to "breath", love the software, just wish there were files for the older ATH MD50's and the newer Sennheiser Momentum 4's.”
“The software works very well with my Sennheiser HD 660s'. I found that while these headphones sounded great for some music, other highly compressed music such as rock genres sounded incorrect - the software corrected that well and improved the sound of other music too. Overall, bit expensive but quite good.”
“This little piece of software has made a great deal of difference in my mixing flow. I already own a pair of headphones, but there are profiles available for all sorts of different brands within the software.
This has helped a lot with getting volume levels on my mix in a much more balanced state - it really helps you realise quite how much colouring the sound gets from the headphones alone, as the overall sound using this software is much "thinner" - but as mentioned, this is a more flat and "true" representation.
Very good as a reference before removing it from the track again - even has a very nice error prompt to remind you it's not been bypassed if you try and mix down with it still enabled...something I have done far more times than I care to mention.
Who is this for:
Anyone who doesn't have access to treated rooms and amazing mixing facilities who are struggling to get a good reference point for balanced mixes.
Who is this NOT for:
Studio professionals with the best software, rooms and systems.”
“I love SoundID Reference for my headphones, especially for listening to music. It just fills the gaps in the frequency range that the headphones reproduce.
Before opting for SoundID I also tried a similar product, but it didn’t sound or act the way I think it should + it didn’t have the profile for my headphones, only a similar one.
Sonarworks had the profile and it works as expected.
Thanks!”
