“This one elevates my sound to the next level. Now I can hear all the unwanted things in my production. It allows me to mix anywhere with the best possible quality!”
“Well this piece of software was a game changer for me. Making music for 20yrs as a bedroom producer, but never had the money, time or took the the leap to acoustically treat my room, the main reason was I moved around a lot. I purchased the headphones version and it has completely transformed my mixing and mastering. I have paid some of my tracks before to get mastered by novice mastering engineers which can be expensive. They say you should always get something else to master your music, but I was never happy with the finished mastering. Since I purchased the software, I have mastered my own tracks, which I tested across multiple systems and I am extremely happy with.
I think the concept of having multiple headphone choices which I can pick from which have a EQ flat response is genius, I wish I had come across this earlier”
“This has been a game-changer in terms of making it easier for me to accurately hear how the individual tracks sound which in turn has produced incredibly better mixes. I use SoundID Reference all the time now”
“With a HD650 and a need for reference sound, I was able to use SoundID Reference to have a closer baseline to my listeners various devices. I've also found myself using it when checking content for the first time. To give content a fair review as possible, and switching it off when listening after hours.
I only ran into one conflict so far; a custom python sound application which seemed to conflict with the standard options for maintaining the default sound device in Windows. This wasn't a big issue and a niche use case.
It would be nice if there were some bindable global hotkeys, for SoundID Reference options. Such as switching it on and off without needing to focus on the window and use the mouse. Or toggling the Virtual Monitoring plugin on and off as needed. Or switching to a different headphone preset, or a particular target mode, such as a certain couple of translation checks, and then back to Flat Target.
Overall, SoundID Reference has made my life a bit easier. And I'm even using it for personal uses such as watching a movie for the first time with non-reference headphones. I'm happy with the results so far.”
“Very easy to use. Of course, unless you have other means to measure and verify the result, you kind of have to just believe that the processed signal is really the flat 'curve' that is displayed; nevertheless, the sound is very uncoloured, seems flat to me, and when I compare different headphones, this tool makes them sound really very similar. Very happy, using it all the time now.”
