“I am an amateur song writer. The songs that I write vary in the type of singer that is appropriate for the song: gender, age, vocal timbre, etc. This has been a stumbling block and deep frustration for me for several years since the idealized "song voice" in my head could never be realized since there would be no practical way for me in finding and auditioning appropriate singers and then paying them for their efforts, and then recording them in a small bedroom studio.
With the advent of the much-purported AI revolution in the news, I wondered if there was a chance that some tech developer(s) created and made available a plug-in for DAW that offered what I hoped for was a solution to my dilemma.
About eight weeks ago I did a quick web search inquiring about AI vocal production and lo and behold SoundID VoiceAI came up. I was intrigued, so I investigated the web site and read all of the info. I thought that this was too good to be true. I'm not pessimistic by nature, but I have been burned before by plug-ins that "promised the world" but fell far short.
Still curious, I searched YouTube for reviews of this product and found several. The reviewers sounded surprised and delighted that this product actually did what it said it would do. Hmmm. My spirits lifted a bit, but I decided to think about it for a while . . . about six weeks.
Then my curiosity couldn't be contained any longer so I decided to take the plunge. I purchased the "Perpetual" package. The payment and download were straight forward, no hiccups even for me.
In application in my Logic Pro DAW, it took a few tries to get the gist of how to use the AI Voice plug-in, but was truly delighted at the results. The voice samples actually sounded how I imagined them: the children sounded like children, the teens like teens, and mature and seniors like they should. Win-win. I will use this plug-in with great anticipation and confidence from here on out.
I do have two qualms, though. On a vocal track where I have used the VoiceAI, if there is a lengthy space of twenty or thirty seconds or more of silence followed by more vocals, the plug-in shuts off during the silence and won't turn back on for the next vocal part on that track. This was very frustrating at first but was quickly resolved by recording "scratch vocals" over the "silent spaces" between the intended vocals and then turning down the volume so the "scratch vocals" wouldn't be heard. This kept the plug-in operating continually for the length of the track. Is this a glitch of feature, I don't know.
And there is a slight hint from time to time of an “artificial-nis” of the VoiceAI sound, but really not enough for me to be concerned about, and I’m a stickler.
The other qualm is I wish there was a broader variety of senior-mature voices to round-out the vocal offerings. All-in-all, I'm delighted at with this product, would highly recommendit to anyone and am thrilled with my results.”

“As soon as version 2.0 with perpetual licence came out, I bought this and have been delighted. Very intuitive interface, great range of voices, and speedy offline processing. It's going to make my ideas much easier to bring to fruition in future, but for now, I'm having a load of fun with it!
The voices follow very closely the input voice. In some cases, this just sounds like me, but with a different tone of voice, but in others it sounds like a completely different person is singing. It's absolutely superb for hearing my songs with a female voice!
I hope Sonarworks continue to develop SoundID VoiceAI. In the future, I'd love to see:
1. The ability to make a custom voice, by uploading pre-recorded vocal tracks of good vocalists I know.
2. Improved ability to transform the accent as well as the voice tone. For example if the person used for the target voice was British or American, this would be discernable in the final result.
Nonetheless, SoundID VoiceAI is great in its present form, and at the current price for the perpetual license version is brilliant value for money. I also appreciate that Sonarworks doesn't limit you to a single PC. This was very handy for me when I had to do a mobile session very recently. Great stuff - keep up the good work!”
“Great to have a voice manipulation tool that works inside A DAW, rather than using cloud-based processing. Easy to get a quick result, but takes a little while to find out how to get the best results, especially converting male to female, and vice versa. Early impression is that it will be a useful and fun tool to use in home music production. Library voices are good quality, and varied.”
