Great app, but it desperately needs a smartwatch integration! I really love the Shot Scope app. The statistics provided are incredibly detailed, the interface is well-designed, and it helps me tremendously when analyzing my golf game after each round. Tracking data over time is super interesting. The only downside is having to carry your cell phone with you at all times while playing. After a while, it gets a bit annoying and bulky in your pockets, especially when you walk the course. It’s really time for the team to develop a compatible app directly for smartwatches. Being able to track shots or quickly glance at your wrist instead of having to pull out your phone on every single hole would be much more practical and better for the pace of play. An amazing app that would be close to perfection with a watch version!

Simple to set up and good stats but a real pain to use on course having to scan club on every shot, when u remember! It’s mainly awkward on the greens when trying to read putts, speed, line then watching playing partners, then remembering to scan putter and hole collect. This would be a great product if u didn’t have to scan your club on every shot.

I already wrote a detailed review but shot scope sends me a weekly email requesting that I review their product. So here goes... I didn't like their connex tags. I found them intrusive to my game. I was focused more on tapping than I was on just playing. And it takes some getting used to or you'll forget to tap. Especially noticeable on the green. Every putt must be tapped to get true putting stats. But if you're standing over a 6 inch tap in, you'll probably forget to tap your tag to your phone or you'll annoy the guys you're playing with after a few holes. I tried them for 5 rounds but ended up returning them before my 30 day return window expired. I did receive great customer support though. Within their database my local course only showed white tees. In reality there are 5 tee boxes. You're supposed to be able to add tee boxes but every time I added black, red, gold, silver I'd have to do that every round. They weren't saving in their app. Same for slope rating. Had to be rebuilt every round. I contacted customer support and they built them in for me. Supposedly their database is accurate but in my case it was not. Luckily I had a scorecard in my bag but imagine you're arriving at a course you've not played before and you find there's only 1 tee box to select from. Automatically your yardages are inaccurate, your hole handicap (slope rate) will be skewed. They claim to provide over 100 tour level analytics but unless your on tour I can't imagine the average recreational golfer using for than half a dozen stats. I spent more money but got what I needed out of a Garmin watch. Anyway I tried their system of tags and the app and it wasn't for me. Of note, the 3 questions below are Value for money, Ease of use and Product performance. I tried selecting OK, FAIR & OK but the slider automatically goes to good, easy and good, meaning those input fields are predetermined and you can't choose for yourself. Like on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being poor 5 being great. I want to input 1 but the system automatically bumps it up to 3. Not only is that dishonest, it's unfair to the reviewer and the community reading reviews.

I have used this a couple times now. I was trying to find something that was cheaper than arccos. Keep in mind a lot of this might be user error and I am still trying to figure everything out. The first time I used it, it was kind of a pain. Having to pull out my phone each time to tab my club to it. Then I was dumb and didn't realize how to see my score. I stopped using it after 4 holes. After that round I started playing with the app. I figured out you have to swipe up to see your score. I also figured out that if I got a phone holder for my push cart it made it a lot easier. I could hit the scan button and tab my phone while on the cart. I do think this a great product for the price. Couple of enhancements ideas have a way to detect the club with out tapping the phone. The reason I say that if you want to track distance it seems it will only register when you tap you next club. If you for get the distance will not be right. Although the tapping does help to keep track of your strokes. You have to tap the phone each time you swing even if it is with the same club as I couldn't figure out how to change the stroke count.

I like the shot tracking and the data in the app. The main point of criticism is that it's a little cumbersome to use and I wouldn't want to use it when golfing with others as it simply takes too long to get the club registered - especially around the green. This could be improved with better manual tracking for shots around the green - this is the most cumbersome part. For example trying to register the putter and then collect the pin for a tap in simply takes too much time and effort. The app could also be improved - the most obvious thing here is to provide handicap tracking within the app.

They are really handy for someone new to golf to start understanding their distances. However you have to open the app for the rfid code to work, it does not work naturally. And if you want to know distance to the pin, again you need to open the app, unlike something like ‘18 birdies’ which works on the lock screen.
