“I purchased an H50 golf gps device soon after its launch. The device is proving to be exactly what I'd hoped for. It has clear, colour, hole-mapping, with multiple additional functions such as lay-up distances, range-arcs to identify good/bad target distances, plus enlarged 'green-views' with pin positions the user can move around to match the hole location. There are multiple additional features which can be allied to your own shot tracking (via the ShotScope App) and green contours to aid putting. Apart from the hole-mapping (undoubtedly my favourite feature) the H50 carries no subscription fees. It is simply a one-time purchase. Furthermore, as someone who plays overseas alot, I do not need to link it to an app on my phone (which would bring the risk/cost of huge data charges) as it works indpendently. Downsides? The battery discharges to around 50-60% in normal use, which is fine for me, but 36 holes in one day might need a top-up charge. Secondly, although the H50 has a small attachment bar with a fabric strap and caribiner (which doesn't fit through the attachment bar), and is magnetic, neither of these is especially practical for use on the course. I found a simple solution is to buy a basic bike/motorbike phone holder, which fits perfectly on a golf trolley handle. Overall though, the product is excellent and a far better gps device than those displaying simple yardages. Added to this, is that, in my experience, the customer service provided by Shot Scope is first class.”

“I’ve only used the H50 for two rounds so far. But I will be playing 2-3 times a week for the next 4 weeks on courses that I will need the info from the H50. Ask me again for my opinion in a month. I’m sure my ratings will get better. Any challenges are most likely user error. But, so far so good!”

“I have been a user of the V3 and V5 for a number of years and love the shot tracking for improvement analysis. However, for on the course shot management the small screen process to plan shots is just too difficult with my older eyes. The H50 appears to have solved that problem, but to be transparent I have only used it a few times. I like the hole maps, the ability to plan shots and to see what is left to the hole from where I want to hit a shot. One problem I did have was when I keep it in my pocket and go into the clubhouse at the turn to grab a soda, it loses the gps signal (just like the V5) and when it gets the signal back it resets to the opening screen and not back to the round I am playing. The V5 regains the gps signal and keeps the same round continuing. Would be nice to have the H50 operate in the same way. Overall, I believe it will help me to improve course management and be a great tool when playing a new course I have not played before.”

“As much as I wanted to like this product, it took way too long to register the GPS on the courses I tried to use it. I was on the third hole before it finally found the courses. And, on the one course it was mapped wrong. I do not recommend this product for anyone in FL.”

“This is great when it works. Often the screen starts to flash. Suddenly stopped in the middle of a game and had to restart. Not clear where you are around the green. Heat map not as useful as I’d hoped. Tree area not particularly well defined. Nevertheless I’m pleased I have it!”

“Have used the device a half dozen times. So far so good. Doesn’t always change holes when going to the next tee. Have to use the up arrow on the side. It would easier, there was an arrow on the screen to move to the next hole. Also trying to figure out how ‘plays like distance’ works.”
