I'm loving the pi5. It's much faster than my pi4 8GB at running a desktop/browser etc. Very nice. I've hooked it up to a Heltec LoRa v3 and am having a lot of fun with meshtastic sending long range messages. I've picked up a router node 50 miles away! I've spoken to a few people on it and have been messing around with the python api for meshtastic making my pi helpful (to me at least) on the mesh. I've tried it with some emulators and that was a lot of fun, it was able to do some consoles better than the pi4 was. I tried both retropie and batocera and both worked well. I have it in a case with a fan and overclocked to "EXTREME" settings by batoceras measurement system. It's doing fine and isn't bothered. I've used it to quantize Llama 7b and it took ages and was really really slow to respond but it did get there sometimes. Alpaca works much better but it's answers are somethings weird. I've not hooked any hats up to it yet but I expect they'll work fine. Get a proper power supply, any old usb-c cable won't do. It is greedy on the power compared to earlier boards I think. It's much faster if you run the OS off a usb drive instead of SD card so if you are chasing speed you've probably already done that.

Very happy with the pi5, loaded OS in seconds. And installed everything I wanted in few mins. Power and speed are fantastic. Definitely satisfied with this over pi3. Just gonna wait bit for Camera upgrade. Then I can do everything I want. Thanks Rasp Pi, didn't let me down

I recently made the jump from Raspberry Pi 4 to Raspberry Pi 5, and I am genuinely blown away by the speed improvement. The upgrade has been a game-changer for me. Setting up the Raspberry Pi 5 was a breeze, and I encountered no hiccups during the entire process. The speed difference compared to the Pi 4 is noticeable and highly satisfying. Tasks that used to take a bit of time now zip by effortlessly. The compact design of the Raspberry Pi 5 continues to be a standout feature for me. It's such a powerful little computer, yet it doesn't take up much space at all. The form factor is perfect for various projects and fits seamlessly into my setup. It's a fantastic upgrade from the Pi 4, delivering a notable speed boost while maintaining the compact and user-friendly design. If you're considering an upgrade, the Raspberry Pi 5 is definitely worth it!

This is the latest Pi and but far the most powerful. I'm actually typing this review on one now and it functions fine as a full-on desktop machine.

I have had great success and found new uses with the Raspberry Pi 5. I am currently using it with the Pimoroni NVME hat for excellent speed of loading files and booting up, great performace while using Chromium, and have found some really cool extensions that will run on the Pi such as Okla Speedtest. I am very happy with this new addition of the Raspberry Pi 5.
