“The Raspberry pi zero is a powerful tool in a very small and efficient form factor. It's perfect for my IOT projects.
Power consumption is very good and with a few tweaks can really last a long time on battery.”
“I bought this to be part of a Pi-Star "DMR Hotspot" and it is almost perfect for the job. Yes, it's slower than a Pi3 or Pi4 but it's faster than my Pi model B ;-)
I have one problem however, which is that the onboard WiFi seems to go "deaf" to broadcast packets such as ARP requests from time to time, making it appear to have "gone to sleep" on the network. This may be a RPi OS problem of course, so may get fixed.
The Pi Zero W itself is of course a thing of wonder - so many 24/7 tasks really don't need high processing speeds and these small boards are just the thing for embedded applications - and for learning on a budget perhaps.”
