Really great display. Vivid colours and a nice size. I found it really easy to set up alongside a pi-zero 2. Fast delivery.

Very solid build and easy to use software. Got it up and running in an hour. The colors are phenomenal. If you get one of these, take the time to read into dithering and color palettes a bit, it helps to get the most out of the hardware. For potential buyers in the EU: Shipping to Germany was fast and customs declaration was completely flawless.

I’ve put the Inky Impression 13.3 (2025 Edition) into a custom wooden frame to make a photo viewer. Compared with earlier revisions, this edition cuts the screen refresh time to less than half. That’s brilliant! The Spectra 6 used in the 2025 Edition drops one colour (orange) compared with the previous Gallery Palette, but Pimoroni’s library abstracts that difference, so the same Python script runs without any changes. In other words, there’s no need to implement your own error-diffusion: the library handles it natively and quickly. It’s perfectly usable even on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2. I’m running a Zero 2 W on four Ni-H AA cells. For the microSD, I use an overlay file system—i.e. the root (/) is mounted read-only—so even if the system shuts down abruptly due to battery drain, I’ve had no issues at all. I’ve heard rumours that the panel manufacturer has larger Spectra 6 sizes in its line-up. If Pimoroni were to release a 31.5-inch Spectra 6 version, I’d be very keen to buy one.
