“Very solid build and easy to use software. Got it up and running in an hour. The colors are phenomenal. If you get one of these, take the time to read into dithering and color palettes a bit, it helps to get the most out of the hardware.
For potential buyers in the EU: Shipping to Germany was fast and customs declaration was completely flawless.”
“Inky impression works - I use this to display photos and they look great. The device performs as expected for the resolution and exceeds the value for the price paid.
The killer was the installation and software support - It just worked, something which can be rare for custom RPI kit!”
“The panel is on the darker side (that is, it is not as white or as contrasty as modern B&W e-ink panels). I was also massively disappointed by the lack of partial refresh. While the 2025 version is twice as fast as the previous one, it still takes a long time to refresh, and the multi-color blinking refresh procedure is extremely distracting (this is my personal opinion). I also miss the high quality documentation - it is not written anywhere which GPIO pins the panel uses, and for which purpose serves the connector on the back in the lower left corner (IF it is a connector). Other than that, it is usual high quality device from Pimoroni - not cheap, but IMHO worth the price.”
Ahoy Artur (and thanks for the review)!
You should be able to see the pins that this display uses to connect to the Pi (and the ones available on the broken out GPIO header) on the schematic: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0174/1800/files/inky_impression_73_spectra_schematic.pdf?v=1745854872

Setup is quite easy is your read setup and troubleshooting documentation.
I recommend it.”
