“Extremely effective little fan, drags the CPU temps down considerably just by dropping it on the headers, no software required. Also it has a well documented set of optional tools to set up thresholds and customise the switch and indicator LED. In my opinion this should be a standard addition with every Pi4 as I'm just not comfortable running the Pi4 at it's standard scorching temps otherwise! Certainly wouldn't want something this hot left on 24x7 as an internet of things device such as MotionEye, Weather Station or Flightaware without one.”
“Fiddly to assemble but works well and makes no noise at all.
I had to look closely to be sure that the fan was spinning when the green led came on.
My pi goes from a resting temp of 50 degrees C to about 60 degrees where the fan kicks in while running stress. Temperature never goes above 60 degrees during the test.
That is using the recommended settings.
Very happy with it and given the reports of how hot the Pi 4 gets it is a must.”
“This is the little fan that could! What a great, fully featured product. Installation is super simple and the instructions are more than clear. There are even scripts to install to control what temperature activates the fan! The activity LED is a nice touch as well! A definite buy if you’re looking for active cooling and works really well with the Ninja Pibow case!
And as with everything from Pimoroni, the packaging was top notch. A really nice touch!”
“Excellent value, build and performance. Added it to my pi 4 with a coupe case in minutes. Seeing sub 40 degrees now rather than 60 before install. Would recommend as hot pi(e) is not good pi in this instance!”
