“Excellent option for cooling the Raspberry Pi 4, previously I was idling at 65 celsius without the Fan SHIM and now I'm idling at 39 celsius. The daemon is very easy to use and it's reassuring to know that the SHIM will automatically kick into action when the temperature you specified is exceeded.
My suggestions for the next iteration of the Fan SHIM would be for the PCB to feel more robust during assembly, and for a way to control the RPM of the fan, although the fan is already very quiet but I would prefer to have more control over this.”
“Great product. Temperature under load went down by 20C. Easy to install. The screws included however was made by metal and not plastics like in the instructions on the website. That is good, but a bit confusing.”
“Arrived promptly and using the stores instructions was incredibly easy to attach and run. A quiet little fan that does the job of keeping the Raspberry pi cool and efficient.”
“Works perfectly. After getting my Pi4/4GB, I was a little underwhelmed - having believed all the hype - by its performance running four fairly undemanding Docker containers on Raspbian Buster Lite. I did a little basic debugging, and discovered of course that the board was getting too hot and throttling itself - how I wished I'd just ordered the Fan Shim with the Pi. No matter: it gave me an excuse to pick up a couple of other things, and arrived after only a few days' wait - very impressive, since I'm in Vienna. Installation was very straightforward (albeit slightly hampered by me not remembering which of my Pis was the new one - accidentally took a few things offline unplugging the wrong ones!), and now my Pi is unthrottled and powering through anything I throw at it. Highly recommended.”
