“Excellent product with very, very quiet fan. I use LibreElec with Kodi for home theater video streaming so I was unable to edit LibreElec linux core to add fanshim service. Instead I used the Kodi fanshim addon created by "Jane". It requires RPI-Tools addon and I learned it must be installed FIRST, followed by Jane's fanshim addon. Everything works fine and it is easy to set one's own temperature range for the fan On-Off.
I recommend buying a GPIO extender if you have heatsink on your cpu, else the fanshim will not go down far enough onto GPIO pins to make reliable contact.”
“You have to put it together yourself - and then download the Daemon to activate the fan when the temp gets up a little. Fiddly - but my pi4 seems to need it - especially in enclosures - you will need to make sure every thing fits - extend your pins and put some standoffs in.”
