+ Truely a nice colo(u)s and simple, yet beautiful design that I personally like much more than the official case (which is done very well either). I also prefer the darker color combination over the previous rather orange-ish Pibow Zero color combination.
+ This case ensures that you Pi Zero W doesn't get lost on your desk -- albeit it raises the inherent danger that your Pi Zero W does get lost in someone else's pocket even more so due to its elegant design.
+ Assembling the Pibow Zero W case was quick and easy, thanks to the numbers etched into the layers. I really appreciate the layered construction.
+ HATs still work.
---Cons, aka nitpicking:
- The topmost transparent layer came with a nice scratch which I immediately saw when I unpacked the layers. After several frames and cases from Pimoroni this is the first one that came scratched.
- The bottom right corner of the red layer (2) is very fragile and can easily break off when assembling the kit. Fortunately, this corner will still be held in place by the bolt.
- I would like to see single-colored Pibow Zero W cases, with the same range as for the 7" Touch LCD frame, so they can be matched. Unicolor tangerine, or jade, or flotilla, or ...
- Unfortunately, the mSD card cannot be replaced without having to temporarily remove the topmost two layers.
Summary: great little case from Pimoroni, get it!”
“I think the photos and description are really misleading, in the decription it only mentions that the micro sd card will be enclosed.
However in the diagram photo you can clearly see that the TV and RUN pins will be accessible and if you go to the linked tutorial (which brings you to the version for the pi zero, that version as well has those pins accesible)
In the product photos they are however not accessible.
Bought this thinking they would in fact be accssible, which kinda sucks. Should be clarified and the diagram photo should be changed.”
“I got this as part of the Zero W starter kit that I bought from the 2017 PiParty - and I love it! The colours are amazing, and the case itself fits the Zero W perfectly. I will say that it is a little bit confusing to put on, as I didn't have any instructions in the kit, but I just had to come on here and take a glance at the exploded diagram and it told me everything I needed to know. Great work Pimoroni team!”
“This is a fantastic case and looks groovy next to the standard PiBow's
I assemble mine with the Nuts on the top, so you only have to remove 2 layers to get to the Pi (instead of almost fully dismantling it) plus it sits nicely on the flat headed screw ends”
