Barista Workshop - Intro Saturday 27th November 2021 / 9:30 am - 12.30 pm Reviews

A really enjoyable afternoon workshop aimed at any level of experience due to small numbers so Rin is able to adapt the training to whatever is needed. Fun, informative and hands on learning gave me knowledge to take away and apply to my coffee making at home. I’m happy and I can finally justify buying my expensive espresso machine. Thanks Rin!

After starting to get more interested in coffee over the last year, I was delighted to have been given a voucher to attend a Barista Workshop with Rin as a present. Run really does make the workshop fun and informative, taking the time to get to understand where the attendees are at and tailoring the event accordingly. Starting with the basics of coffee origin, and then roasting, Rin moves on to explain the importance of grind, measures, and we were soon on to making copious numbers of espresso shots, understanding the difference that small adjustments make, and how to create different drinks. Oh, and even some Latte art too! Great kit to work with, and lots of friendly knowledge. Thanks Rin.

After playing around and being a bit hit and miss with my basic machine at home, I thought it was time to get some tips from a pro. Rin was great! Spent time getting to know what we already knew and what we drank (while feeding us an excellent lunch), and then tailored the session to suit us. So after covering the basics of roasting with a good look at the roaster, we got stuck in and pulled a lot of espresso shots! Picked up lots of great tips to make the best of the kit I have available, and it was a joy to dial in a recipe with a commercial grade machine. Rin is super-approachable, so whether you've never pulled an espresso before but want to know how your favourite cafe does it, or are looking to get the best out of your new shiny prosumer machine, Rin will have you covered. Highly recommended for coffee lovers.

I knew very little about coffee before going on the Barista Workshop at Rins and came away having learnt so much - from learning about types of beans to perfecting a flat white pattern! Rin was very patient and let me learn at my pace. The workshop was relaxed and informal which made it a great environment to learn in too. The lunch was absolutely delicious too! :) Thanks for a great morning, Rin!

We had a fantastic time at Rin’s intro to barista workshop. What a fun and interesting day out! We learned loads and, as beginners, now know so much more about coffee. The course is informal and relaxed but very informative, for all levels of knowledge, and very helpful for tips about using any sort of coffee machine or cafetière at home. From the beans and blends, to grinding and roasting, Rin is very knowledgable and happy to answer any questions. The course is very hands on and you are able to use lots of coffee and milk to practice every sort of coffee technique, including milk frothing, pouring and latte art. We would recommend this course to anyone, even infrequent coffee drinkers! All the tastings and lunch were very enjoyable, and in a lovely setting. We were given the voucher as a gift and what a great present it was. Thanks Rin!

I had such a lovely morning learning how to make coffee (properly). Before the course I was nervous making coffee with a machine and since then, it has become part of my daily routine to make them where I work and it’s something I really enjoy thanks to Rin. My love for coffee has definitely grown since which I didn’t realise was possible. I’d definitely take part in another course learning more skills and latte art. 100% recommend to anyone who loves coffee or even just wants some more coffee skills. Thank you Rin!

Now I really understand why coffee can be so good (and so bad....) I spent a fantastic morning with Rin who is such a great teacher. If you're coffee nut, Rin explains everything from roasting the bean to why some coffee can be not be very good and on to making those clever patterns on a perfect Flat White. The morning finished with me saying "Can I just try it one more time?" Next for me is a new machine at home and further latte art skills. Thanks Rin! All the best and I'll be back.....

I have been a fan of Rins coffee for a while but was always unsure how to actually make it properly at home. This course takes you from bean to cup. How the beans are roasted to perfection, grinding correctly, making the prefect espresso to milk techniques, and even cleaning your kit. Fun, informative and likely to put cafes out of business as my coffee at home is now way better that elsewhere! Great as a present for that coffee snob in your life and equally superb if you are a cafe serious about wanting to actually improve your customer experience. Book this course (and I might even become a customer) Thanks Rin and team. 5 stars.
