About The Red Dog Company:

The Red Dog Company was born out of the quest for well-designed, high-quality, dog beds and accessories.

Our dogs work hard, whether in the field, or exercising the children. When they’re not out and about, the chances are they are in their beds, so it seems only fair to make them as comfortable as possible.

Nick and Chris are field sports enthusiasts, and self-confessed gear obsessives.

“The bed looks very smart, and is a great shape that's very comfortable for our medium sized dog. I had to take off a star, however as the sheepskin layer has been giving off a lot of fluff since we've taken it out of the packaging. We've had to put an additional cushion on the bed as every time our dog sits on it there is more fluff that comes off.”

Dear Sarah, Thank you so much for your review — we really appreciate it. We are delighted that you are pleased with its shape and comfort for your Cocker Jack, Salvo. Please don’t worry about the fluff, especially in the early days. Dogs that like to “nest” can accelerate this, but it’s completely normal. Our toppers are made from 100% wool, and the natural variation in fibre length can cause some initial shedding — much like when a new wool carpet is laid. This will soon settle down. We believe the many benefits of wool over synthetic materials outweigh this short-term inconvenience. The fleece itself is extremely hard-wearing, so you won’t see any long-term impact. “An easy ordering process and prompt delivery for our two dog beds which look lovely in our snug. More importantly, our dogs love them as they provide lots of soft support and the firm sides give them somewhere to rest their chins. One slight ‘downside’ is that they slide on our tiled floor. But we have remedied that by putting anti-slip mats underneath them so not really a problem. Also, the fluff from the mattress covering is shedding (fortunately our dogs don’t) but I presume this is temporary and would thoroughly recommend the beds.”

We've dated long and hard about non-slip bases preferring instead to go for a very tough, hard-wearing, water resistant base instead. We are glad you have found a good solution for your tiles. Please do not worry about the fluff, especially at the beginning with dogs that like to “nest”. Because our toppers are made with 100% wool - the fibres vary slightly in length. This is similar to when a new wool carpet is first laid, you may notice balls of fluff appearing for the first few weeks. This should all calm down after a short while. The toppers are tough, and so you should not see any impact on fleece itself over the longer term. Please do keep us posted. All the best The Red Company

“Our Lab loves this bed, definitely his favourite - and we’ve been through a few! It is sturdy and holds its shape really well, unlike many, yet supportive, and he can sleep with his head resting up on the wall, which he loves doing. Also not forgetting, a very stylish bed in our home.”

“Good afternoon Chris, Nick, Thank you for your level of service and products. The proof was always going to be if Monty loved them and he does! He made himself very comfortable in his Fire Orange Classic bed, immediately. The Bespoke Working Dog Mat is a perfect fit for his XL Kong crate. Many thanks. Very highly recommended products.”

“The construction of the bed and the covering materials used look and feel excellent. In fact, most visitors that have seen it say that they would love to sleep in it too! I wasn't sure if my 10 year old Lakeland Terrier would take to it, as he has been used to a particular brand and type of Percher bed since he was a puppy. He has now figured out that he can manoeuvre to accommodate his various sleeping positions and be very comfortable and cosy. Fingers crossed that I can unzip and wash the covering successfully when the time comes.”

“My 8 year old large male Vizsla (32kgs) loves the bed. He had an Orvis memory foam bolster bed previously which had worn out. I was worried he might not take to the new bed but he absolutely loves it. He likes to rest his chin and paws on the rims and to curl up and be cosy. Its perfect”
