“I phone tech helpline. I needed a product to treat upvc cladding. It washes off but need to get at the difficult areas. MacHi Power is the answer. I followed the dilution rate stated, 1:20. Doesn’t do it. Month later , second attempt. Doubling strength. I used it on a wooden roof gone green and used it on 4 patio slabs gone black. It worked. Wouldn’t shout about it. But it’s the vertical surface I bought it for. Sprayed to run off. If I could get to it with soap and water that would clean it.”

Hi there, The active ingredient contained in Mac Hi-Power is DDAC at a 40% concentrate, a formulation we've found to be incredibly effective at moss and algae control in a variety of scenarios. The way in which DDAC works is over several weeks/months, thus offering a long-lasting effect with an element of prevention from further growth/staining. “Very disappointing, having applied 2/3 doses over a period of days, the last of which was a higher concentration, and no rain within 24 hours, the lichen was not affected other than being slightly bleached. The pavers were a little cleaner & the moss between the blocks was killed. This appears to be an exorbitantly expensive moss killer. Back to the power washer. Michael”

Hi Michael, I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the product. This is a product that works over time and the results are not instant. The product needs to be applied to a dry surface and allowed to soak in for at least 12 hours with no rain or being washed off for best results. Once soaked into the surface the active ingredient will work on the biofilms, such as algae and moss, and also the lichen. As it rains and is washed in the future, these unwanted films will wash away leaving the surface clean. Lichen is a bit more stubborn and may require agitation with a stiff brush to shift this better. This product is used by many softwashing professionals time and time again, achieving consistently good results. “Have used it a lot on roofs now getting too cold to use, it needs dry moss to get it to soak in and above a min of 10, end of the season in Scotland”

“have used on several roofs this year, works best when roof is de mossed with a hoe and large bits brushed off, i then blow down the fine grit. do not expect instant results, clear roof in 6 months and lasts approx 5 years”
