This is the only weed killer that I have found controls the problem I have with marestail in my garden. It is highly effective. I noticed with results within a few days when the marestail started to turn black and die. It is probably more expensive that other weed killers but it is certainly worth the money.

It was a clear sky, warm sunny day. Kurtail Gold time thinks me. Mixed it, applied it, then the rain came 2 hours later (not long enough I thought). A couple of days later, the marestails turned brown. Result! Expensive product - Yes, but you pay for quality. Highly recommended. DS Leyland

Hallelujah. .. a product that actually works on killing mares/horse tail weed. Within hours of applying you can see the weed start to blacken and then eventually die off. Easy to mix and apply. It may appear expensive compared to other weedkillers, but rest assured this stuff will work a treat.

As usual, this product has had the dreaded Marestail on the run. I'm just picking off the stragglers now. Overall, I'm very happy with the product. My only niggle is the instructions being seven pages long and yet I couldn't find the mixing ratio for 500 ml. It's a good job this product is effective because I couldn't afford to do this too often.

Due to Kurtail gold's thick consistency it's easy to control while pouring before mixing, only applied once up to now, but started to work on mares tail within a few days.

Used it for the first time last week. Horse tails are already going black and dying. Excellent product. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

I have a massive problem with Horsetail and applications of Kurtail seem to have effect if the dosage isn't diluted to the amount specified, otherwise the result is poor I dilute to about 1/4 curtail 3/4 water and apply. within a few days the horsetail is black and withered, the only problem with using such a concoction is that the bottle doesn't last long and I'm not made of money. That is on the patio area where it is relatively easy to treat however the flower beds are different and am not sure how to use Kurtail in this case as I don't want to harm or kill the other plants these beds look like a furry green mat of horsetail covering the bed , some other plants are just visible through the horse tail. could you advise Bernard

Hello Bernard, Kurtail can still be used within garden beds if care is taken. We recommend the use of a 2-3L size drinks bottle – cut the base off and place like a jar, over each individual horsetail weed. Insert the sprayer nozzle into the bottle neck and spray – this ensures the surrounding plants are safe from overspray. It degrades quickly on contact with the soil so will not be taken up by mature plants (however, annual bedding plants are too shallow rooted to risk spraying next to). Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to email: info@progreen.co.uk or ring: 0800 032 6262 if you have any other queries.
