Makita DUR369AZ Twin 18v LXT Cordless Brushless Brush Cutter Body Only

The Makita DUR369AZ twin 18v brushless brushcutter requires 2x 18v batteries (sold separately) to operate and has been designed to suit the needs of commercial end-users in mind, who are looking for a high powered, quiet and easy to use alternative to a petrol machine, without the compromise on power. It features a cow horn/bike handle and a steel drive shaft for less vibration and longer life. It has a 3 stage speed control – high, medium and low speed, that can be changed by simply pushing a button on the easy to use LED display.

Other features include a reverse switch that comes in handy when tangled grass clippings can be removed by slow reverse rotation of the cutting tool (automatically stops after three seconds) by pressing a button and pulling the trigger. The ADT (automatic torque drive technology) means the RPM is automatically shifted according to the density of weeds. For commercial users the AFT (active-feedback technology) is a great addition, for example when this machine is being used with a metal blade (optional) if it hits a solid object like a tree stump or fence, the sudden decrease in rpm triggers the brake, stopping kickback occurring.

As standard, it also comes with a maintenance-free carbon brushless motor with electronic control, that ensures a high motor efficiency and significantly less heat. It has counter-clockwise blade rotation – (blade rotation is the same as petrol brush cutters making it comfortable for traditional users).

FEATURES

Asymmetrical handle bar ensures more comfort when tilting

Maintenance-free carbon brushless motor with electronic control ensures a high motor efficiency and significantly less heating

Vario switch with preselection for three maximum speeds allows even quieter operation and provides more autonomy for lighter mowing tasks

Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT): Shuts down the tool to protect the user if the rotation speed suddenly slows down

Automatic Torque Drive Technology: Automatically changes the cutting speed according to load condition for optimum operation

Powered by two 18V Li-ion batteries in series to supply energy to the powerful 36V DC motor drive system

Reverse switch for easy removal of grass clippings stuck

Electronic current limiter for overload protection

Ergonomic handle bar of off-set design

Electronic current limiter for overload protection

Electric brake

Soft start feature

Constant speed control

SPECIFICATION

Voltage: 18v x 2 (36v)

No Load Speed: Hi: 0-7,000rpm / Med: 0-5,500rpm / Lo: 0-4,600rpm

Nylon Head Accepts Nylon Line: 2.0 - 2.4mm x 3.5m

Max Cutting Width (Optional Accessories):

2-Tooth Blade (198345-9): 255 mm

3-Tooth Blade (195299-1): 255 mm

4-Tooth Blade (196895-8): 255 mm

Nylon Cutting Blade (197993-1): 430 mm

Plastic Blade (198383-1): 255 mm

Spindle Size: M10 x 1.25 LH

Overall Length: 1846 mm

Body Only Weight: 5.9 kg

Weight (inc. Great tool. Uses our lawnmower batteries. Comfortable and supportive with three blade options included. Works on long grass in fields. Only downside is that, being battery powered, it won't cover massive areas before a recharge but depends what you're using it for.

Harsh on batteries roughly 10-15 mins usage on 2x fully charged 5.0 18v batteries. Not as quiet as I thought it would be Handle not the comfiest got blister on hand due to excessive vibration and rubbing against button on grip. Read instructions and take the time to set straps at the correct height. First time I've used the bull horn grip handle which takes a bit of time getting used to. Only used strimming cable attachment so far so can not comment on other styles of cutters. Also quite heavy. Saying all that, It managed to cut through grass with ease once I was happy with position of handle and straps. And reverse function ability was a welcome feature when caught in longer grass. Feels a solid bit of kit If you have already got Makita Batteries I would say its ok and does a job once set up right. If you need to buy batteries and charger I would possibly recommend a petrol strimmer.

I was looking for a new strimmer and thought I would try a cordless. I was surprised at the power of this machine and ease of use, just pick it up and press the button and your away. Very pleased.

Works perfectly for me. Very controllable with different power settings, and I really like the fact that it is quiet. For me at least, if I am working on a large area, by the time the batteries run out, it is time for a rest.

Works perfectly. Battery life isn't brilliant - 15-30mins at a time from a pair of 5ah makita batteries. But otherwise, excellent.
