Makita DUM604ZX 18v LXT Cordless Grass Shears Body Only with Hedge Trimmer Blade The Makita DUM604ZX LXT Grass Shears are designed to suit the needs of home users, landscapers, nurseries and gardeners. They have a stain-free shear blade surface of glittering silver obtained by non-electrolysed nickel plating that features high anti-abrasion surface for a long lasting coating. The blade systems on the UH201D Mobile Hedge Trimmer and the DUM604Z Grass Shear are interchangeable, where the grass shear and hedge trimmer blades can be installed into both the 10.8v and 18v units. (UH201D blades sold separate). This model also has the added feature of a battery capacity warning - lamp starts blinking red, this indicates battery capacity is low and when the lamp lights up, the tool has stopped due to battery capacity being empty. This ZX version comes complete with grass and hedge cutting shear attachments, including a grass receiver and a chip receiver. We recommend adding a 831278-2 Duffel Tool Bag or a MAKPAC type 3 carry case with Powertool World Pixel Foam Inlays. “Wasn't too sure about the merits of purchasing this tool, but having used it for both grass cutting and hedge trimming I'm quite impressed. Its more for manicuring than serious foliage reduction, but if that's what you need to fine tune and tidy your grass edges and hedges then this a great tool to have in your arsenal”

“This is such a useful bit of kit. A lot chunkier expected. It runs so quietly and is good for smaller stuff although not for any fine topiary. Ye olde hand shears still required.. Bit of a fiddle to change blades.”

“My first Makita disappointment, I realised this tool was not a proper grass or hedge trimming machine, but on using it I was left regretting my purchase, the grass trimming was ok but nothing like the video, but although slow it worked after a fashion, the hedge cutter attachment, was for just taking the tips off a long low box hedge, but it stopped cutting after every one or two metres, I had to keep taking it apart and putting it back together again, it took me at least 6 times to do a 12 metre small hedge. One Drive arm seemed to jump off it's cam drive, although assembled as per instructions. Unit returned for refund. Will buy a battery Makita stand alone hedge trimmer instead.”
