When I bought this I was expecting something out of the ordinary but it let me down big time because it absolutely eats batteries and paying so much money for something that’s supposed to be the best Makita ever brought out makes me think I’m glad I never purchased the earlier models for me it’s a max 2.5 out of 5 and if I could’ve sent it back within the 14 days I would have but unfortunately no courier could guarantee it to be back in time

This is my first battery-powered chainsaw and I'm very impressed with the performance. I previously owned a mains 30cm chainsaw but it was long in the tooth and difficult to adjust. The Makita DUC405Z is a pleasure to use and cuts through green wood like butter. The automatic chain oiling system should ensure that the chain lasts a long time. The chainsaw is well balanced and has a good set of safety features. I'm planning to tackle a couple of large conifers in the next two weeks and I feel confident that the DUC405Z will take these jobs in its stride. I'm using 2 x 5.0mAh batteries and have yet to see them drop to 50% capacity.

Good product typical of Makita apart from the plastic which looks cheap and fake

I'm admittedly a Stihl fan when it comes to chainsaws so I debated whether this Makita battery chainsaw would be a worthwhile purchase. I wouldn't recommend it for professional forestry work or heavy duty work because it wont have enough power or torque, but for small / medium pieces of wood this is tool is fantastic! Lots of power when using 2 x 5ah batteries, good build quality and very simple to operate and maintain. Pleased with my purchase and the usual top quality pricing and service from Powertoolworld.
