Brought this based on reviews and as I had batteries for a makita drill. Have used it twice and so far I find it excellent. I cut quite long grass the first time and have a 90ft lawn in my back garden and it coped very well on the one charge. Changing height is a little awkward but should get used to it. Other than that light to move and a great purchase.

Lightweight, sturdy and rugged without all the hassle of cables. If you have a large garden, you might want four batteries. But honestly, this thing has plenty of power to cut through even quite heavy, long grass.

The machine seems well built and performed well. Fortunately I already had 2 3Ah batteries from my Makita drills, albeit they are now over 7 years old. This is what influenced my choice. I have only made one cut at height 3 but it has been great. Cut around 200 M2 on one charge. Remember to empty the grass collector as it does drag on the motor when full.

Needed a new mower for the coming spring and summer. My petrol powered mower was on its last wheels as it were. As I already had a Makita tools, this Makita mower attracted me with its battery power using the same batteries as my other Makita tools, so I plunged for it with trepidation and thought surely can’t be all that good just using battery power. But this didn’t disappoint. Using twin 5ah batteries I was able to cut a large lawn within the hour and still had plenty of juice left. However doesn’t seem strongly built as my Honda petrol mower as the Makita mower is mostly made of hard plastic. So time will tell whether this Makita mower will stand up to the rigorous of mowing in the garden as my petrol mower has lasted for a few years.
