Well made mower. Easy to assemble, even on your own. Height adjustment is stiff, but it has to be as it's attached to a spring system. Once set it is very rigid and secure - this is good. Not the quietest, but OK. Cuts well and the twin batteries (I have these for other Makita appliances) fit in easily and there is also a safety key, which can be removed, if and when changing heights or cleaning. Note it is MUCH easier to change cut heights with the mower on it's side. The grass catcher is fine. Controls are easy to use and substantial enough for purpose. Very pleased so far after cutting the lawn 3 times.

We have bought into the Makita system of batteries, so this mower joins a trimmer, leaf blower, SDS drill, impact driver, drill and saw. I get 3rd party batteries - no need to buy Makita originals - so it's a really good system with a fast battery charger. The mower is the usual no-nonsense high quality I've come to expect from Makita. It's plenty powerful enough for our garden (3 bed detached house with front and rear gardens), it's lightweight and easy to clean and carry around and it just gets on and does the job well. I don't miss my Viking petrol mower at all.

I switched to Makita from Bosch and previously used the Bosch rotak lawnmower so can only compare to that. Cuts well and the battery level indicator is good. The only thing negative is it does feel a lot more plasticky than the Bosch one and the level indicator lever is hard to manoeuvre and also very plasticky too.

Really good design and even with the 2 batteries fitted it is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. Cuts really well and would definitely buy other products in this range.
