Makita DHR171Z 18v LXT SDS+ Plus Cordless Brushless Rotary Hammer 17mm Body Only
Makita has created a new class in cordless with 18V LXT new compact tools. The Brushless DHR171 17mm SDS Plus Rotary Hammer is ideal for working in tight spaces and for overhead conditions.
The DHR171 has an efficient Makita Brushless Motor for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. It has 2-mode operation for “rotation only” or “hammering with rotation”, with 0-680 RPM, 0-4,800 IPM and 1.2 Joules of impact energy for fast and efficient drilling. The compact size and lower weight mean reduced fatigue for operators, especially for overhead applications.
Additional features include a vibration-absorbing handle that moves independently of the motor and hammer mechanism for increased operator comfort, as well as a variable speed trigger, built-in L.E.D. lights, and one-touch sliding chuck for easy bit changes.
Supplied body only. Batteries and chargers are sold separately.

I'm not sure if I'm happy with this drill or not? It's a good little drill fit in tight spaces and it's light weight but on line it's selling as an sds drill but on the box and drill itself it hasn't got any markings saying it's an sds, just a rotary hammer drill so I'm abit hit and miss with it and it's doesn't drill like an sds, it lacks hammering.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. The drill you purchased is indeed an SDS drill, however it is one of the less powerful SDS drills made by Makita. It is the cousin of the DHR242 which may have been a better option for you as the DHR242 offers twice the joules but is a little more expensive. Thank you for your order. Kind regards, Ian@Powertoolworld.co.uk
