This is a replacement to a heavy duty makita combi drill whose gearbox packed up. So far I'm very impressed with the power and its lightness. I haven't used it yet for really heavy work; the fact it has no side handle may be a limitation in terms of handling higher levels of torque. Battery life with this newer model is much longer than in the old one

It is smaller than my last Makita drill (still going after 10 years hard use) really powerful and compact and the Brushless motor is awesome!

Iam a DIYer and my personal favourite is the Makita brand for reliability and choice. I’ve slowly but surely replaced my electric tools for battery operated tools and the LXT Brushless is my second so that I can have one ready with a drill bit and another with a screw bit as it saves swapping bits on the one tool...lazy or practical ?. Does most jobs with ease but any heavy concrete drilling and I’ve still got my heavy duty Makita electric drill to turn to.
