Have used Makita cordless kit for years now. Went for brushless this time as a replacement to my original combi drill. Only get what you pay for. Class.

It fitted the 18V Li-ion batteries made by Makita. It's ighter and more compact than the brushed version, and so far it doesn't smoke.

This is a replacement to a heavy duty makita combi drill whose gearbox packed up. So far I'm very impressed with the power and its lightness. I haven't used it yet for really heavy work; the fact it has no side handle may be a limitation in terms of handling higher levels of torque. Battery life with this newer model is much longer than in the old one

It is smaller than my last Makita drill (still going after 10 years hard use) really powerful and compact and the Brushless motor is awesome!
