“Phileas - the rechargeable lamp - saved Christmas Day! Our entire street in London had a 12-hour power cut from 1.30pm, so no turkey, no TV, no light all day. Except for the two Phileas lamps I'd bought to look pretty by the window seat. They looked beautiful in the dark and we carried them up to bed like Victorians. Best buy ever!”

“I've just converted a boxroom to a study, and needed a lamp for the new desk. The Phileas is lovely, and gives flexibility when it comes to positioning the furniture, as I don't need to place it near the (limited) power sockets. The brass Ruckle shade looks good, but doesn't let a lot of light through. I already have a Hernan rechargeable lamp with a brass shade, so thought this would work as effectively, but the Hernan has the bulbs built into the base of the shade, so gives a better light. I'll be using the study after Christmas, so will get a better idea then about how effective this combination turns out to be, but it does look great.”
