“I can not praise the leg of lamb/hogget that I bought enough! 2.560 kilos of prime meat. There was little fat in the roasting pan and the flavour is intense, deep and mellow. It is a happy well-reared animal that produces such a firm texture and taste. I like the fact that Piper's allows the animal to be older for its big joints. Far more ethical and sustainable environmentally. The packaging is wool insulation in a biodegradable film. The wool is returnable. I have passed mine on to a friend with chickens. Anyone who loves lamb will be bowled over. Our joint fed 10 greedy people well, plus leftovers for sandwiches. My small dog loved the bone, too! A total winner with people who love quality food and ethical rearing.”

The meat was lean and flavourful, the fat left on one side perfect to keep the whole leg moist during cooking. It was extremely well prepared. We loved it.”
