“We stayed at The old swan hotel last week.The room was excellent and clean.The bar staff were wonderful especially Ros . Breakfast was more than enough.The evening meal was ok .”

“A wonderful welcome. Our room was upgraded to a Suite! The staff were very welcoming. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Ideally located with a park close by.”

“The hotel itself was nice. The room didnt warrant a 4star title though . Room 337 which was on the third floor was adequate but lacking in plugs which was unsafe to make a drink. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. I feel priority was given to the numerous coach parties arriving each day. I dont think i will be using this hotel again”

“Would scratch this place off your list of dog friendly hotels .. no dog bed no treats no welcome for your dog… only rules to keep your dog with you at all times and only a bar room to eat in”

We appreciate that guests travelling with their dogs often look for additional touches such as dog beds, treats, and a dedicated welcome, and we understand your disappointment that these were not provided during your stay. The hotel's pet policy is designed to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, which is why dogs are required to remain with their owners at all times and why dining with dogs is limited to their designated bar area. However, we appreciate that these arrangements may not suit everyone’s expectations of a dog-friendly hotel. Your comments are valuable and will be shared with the management team as we continually review our guest experience and consider ways to enhance our services for guests travelling with their pets. “Good check-in and the room was huge. Dog bowl and food mat in place. The grounds were lovely and very well kept. Two minutes walk from the town centre and parks. Food was good although breakfast a bit disjointed as we were seated in the bar area and there were no servers there, so we had to keep going along to the dining room to ask for drinks etc. All in all a lovely stay and good value for the money. Thank you”

“Old Swan in Harrogate was so much fun for our Welsh Springer, Humphrey . Apart from a large double room with doggy feeding station Humph was allowed to join us for dinner and breakfast in the bar area and attracted friendly attention from staff and customers alike . A little bit confused initially by the lift and the swirly corridor carpet he caused much amusement as he mastered the foyer revolving doors on his own with some deft paw work”
