“We spent the New Year weekend at Pettifers with our dog and could not have been happier with our stay: the food, both at dinner and breakfast, was delicious, our room was clean and comfortable and the general atmosphere easy-going and friendly. Our dog was made most welcome (he had a large sausage for every breakfast!). Would definitely go back!”

“The staff and the actual hotel were really good, the food was also excellent. The room though large was a bit tired and sadly, maybe due to us actually having dogs with us, was in an annex in the car park which I wasn’t expecting for a dog friendly hotel. Though the dogs were very happy with a sausage for breakfast ! So, food, hotel and staff excellent. Room not so much.”

“Had a lovely time at Pettifers hotel greeted on arrival and we and our dog were made to feel very welcome (dog are allowed everywhere which is great ) Food and service were excellent peppa even had a sausage for her breakfast. Some great walks literally just across the road . Would definitely return .”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? A beautiful walk for the dogs opposite the hotel and over the fields to an amazing wild flower meadow

“We enjoyed our stay in Pettifers. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all lovely. We were very comfortable and the food was delicious.”

“The room was dowdy, old and not the cleanest. Stained carpet, mould around window frames and rusty bathroom mirror. The staff were mixed from friendly to sullen. The food was average pub meal and not cooked well. It was presented ok but tasted basic and was minimal. The vegetables were raw, my poached egg was raw just not edible. Another diner had to send raw fish back. The one and only positive comment I can make is the bed was comfortable.”

“We had a friendly warm welcome. The room was comfortable and clean. There was plenty of space for our dog to lay down comfortable in the room. The restaurant was welcoming, a nice place to eat and relax with a drink. The food was lovely. There is a good secure walk for dogs along the river just a Cross the road from the hotel. Our dog enjoyed her walk there. We would stay at Pettifers again.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Clearly they were short staffed - but available staff did their best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in particular our dog Seamus. The fact that he could join us at mealtimes was a bonus. The hotel wasn't pristine but acceptable. I think the fact that it was short-staffed made it difficult for them”

“Disappointing dinner menu and very slow service on our first evening. Very good breakfasts each day. Our dog not given as warm a welcome as we have received from previous Pets Pyjamas hotels and no doggy gift apart from sausage at breakfast. Room comfortable and spacious but not serviced daily.”
