“The hotel itself was great, extremely dog friendly, food was pricey but excellent quality and the staff were lovely. Location also great. Dropping a star because we felt a little disappointed that the ‘complimentary sleep kit’, ‘bed time bones’ and ‘sir woofchesters dog menu’ that were advertised on Pets Pyjamas when booking were no where to be seen. The hotel weren’t aware of these things, and didn’t have an up to date menu for the dog.”

“The hotel itself has gone through some refurbishment and is lovely. We received a very warm welcome from David upon check in and he really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was perfect. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast and meals we had were all very tasty and well presented, no more costly than a decent pub meal, only gripe is good could have been hotter but I do like my meals piping hot. Room we booked was a double which was quite small and the shower was a small cubicle, we did ask about an upgrade but as we booked through pets in pyjamas we could not do this through the hotel so we stayed where we were. The website mentions dog treats and a sleep pack which they knew nothing about. I only found the woof Chester menu by chance on our last day too so this was never mentioned. I would definitely visit the hotel again but would probably book directly with them as so dog friendly all over the hotel with lovely walks and nice grounds to exercise your dog.”

“The Coniston inn has been renovated recently and is quite expensive. Food expensive and several things on the menu making it quite restrictive. Rooms do not get serviced due to covid so basically you get a bed and your breakfast in the morning and nothing else. The room had been patched up with paint too but otherwise had everything you would expect from a 4star hotel ie hair drier tea and coffee. Was very disappointed that towels didn’t get changed or bed made. After all it was a holiday. We do respect covid but masks could have Ve been worn. All staff very pleasant and friendly”

“Wonderful stay from beginning to end. The staff were amazing - helpful, friendly and always professional. They looked after us and our two labs so well - made us feel so very welcome. Lovely hotel in a stunning location.”

“Great stay at the above, very dog friendly. Great location to explore from and lovely grounds down to the lake to walk. The staff were friendly and accomodating to both us and our dog. The rooms were clean, a fridge would be nice as our dog is very fussy and only mostly eats chicken so a place to store would be good. Food on the whole good but not a lot of veggie choice or vegetables to choose from on the menu. Slight pricey. Would return.”

“Overall a very nice get away for us and our dog. Great location, really nice grounds right on the lake. Dogs welcome in all areas of the restaurant & bar area. Delicious food, room was basic but very nice. Staff were really friendly and helpful.”

“Arrived on first day of opening and location fantastic with beautiful grounds down to lake for dogs to run around and short walk to beach and bluebird cafe. Lovely pubs in walking distance and hotel bar and restaurant very welcoming. Food excellent and staff very helpful. Had a fabulous time”
