Did not agree with adding 10%to your bill everytime you went to the bar and also the fact they did not accept cash for god sake this should not be allowed also they added 10pound to the bill on departure as a gratuity payment definitely not on would not stop here again.

We had an excellent time, the room was really clean and airy. Our dogs were treated like guests, food was very good and great value for money thanks to Pets Pyjamas.

As we have never visited Harrogate before we will defiantly be returning and staying at the Old Swan Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the start of our visit to when we left. The room and hotel were both clean. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Warm welcome from the minute we arrived especially for the dog. Room spacious and clean, bathroom a little dated with rust on the radiator and around the bathroom mirror! Nice added extra of dog bowl and mat in the room for the dog. Ate in the bar for dinner, limited menu and although the food was ok it was nothing special, husbands steak very good but the pie of the day was very ordinary. Breakfast was very good and even the dog got sausages. Good selection of continental breakfast. Hot food to order and brought to your table. Because we had the dog with us we had to eat in the bar. The huge bonus to this hotel is the staff. All of them very friendly and helpful

Rooms are dated but clean. Dogs are welcomed but not allowed everywhere. Lift was out of order when we stayed and we were three flights up at the back of the hotel. Arnold is 15 (105 in dog years) and the climb was too much but the staff were kind and helpful and moved us closer to the ground. The hotel overall has a feel of having been impressive and glamorous but is now a tad dated. In sumnary, showers lovely and powerful, breakfast nice, staff very friendly, parking in hotel grounds is £10, good location but not sure we’d stay again as rooms aren’t great.

This was once a lovely victorian Hotel catering to the upper/middle classes coming to Harrogate for the healing waters for which Harrogate e was renowned. It is a little worn now but still, a lovely place to stay as the rooms are of a generous proportion and the public rooms still maintain that air of grandeur albeit as I say a little bit faded. The staff are all friendly and helpful and breakfast is good and solid and will set you up for the day ahead. The bedrooms again retain that splendid air of generosity of space and the rates are seriously competitive. All in all a great place to stay where the cost will not break the bank and you are bang in the middle of Harrogate with parking available. I'll be back again no doubt.

What a beautiful place to stay in Harrogate - in a very quiet and exclusive residential area, close to the Valley Gardens and the town centre. The hotel is classically comfortable, bordering on old-fashioned, but it's easy to imagine Agatha Christie there; we loved it. It was fantastic to be able to take the dog, but a shame not to be able to take him into the restaurant. The only negative comment we'd make was that the staff didn't seem very happy (lukewarm welcome, very few smiley faces), and they didn't seem very good at running a hotel - we would have loved to eat restaurant food on the terrace, but were only offered the bar menu. Just because we have a dog doesn't mean we want to eat burgers. I'd stay there again though simply because of where it is.
