Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? The room was not ready for dogs and the beds etc had to be brought in - but no towels at this stage and no ‘dog notice’. This was left on the bed on the third day, telling us about the outside shower.
Pros: Great location, lovely potting shed suite with its own little 'garden', beautiful grounds, staff were good (particularly breakfast staff) Cons: Absolutely wrong that they charge £25 per person to use the spa facilities. Very disappointing. Also, we were only told on day 3 that we could ask for 'old towels' for the dogs - they should have been provided as it was muddy and obviously the dogs were going to get dirty. There is an outside tap to clean dogs, but it is on mud so doesn't really help! Also, there was no topping up of tea, hot chocolate or toiletries (we were there for 5 nights!). These should be replenished daily. No one asked if we had had a good stay. The restaurant and bar were shut as the hotel is in the process of being sold (and you can sense it is rather faded). We would have liked a busier ambience with the bar open but all staff were gone by 9pm. Not great value for money.

We found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful and very kind towards our little dog. The room was spacious, clean, well appointed for both humans and dogs. The gardens were a real asset for both the humans and the dogs. We loved that our little dog was catered for in breakfast but were a little concerned that some days the order came as a doggy sausage and some days as a, not so welcome, human sausage. We appreciated the wide menu choice at breakfast and the high quality of the food but three mornings running we were not able to have what we would have liked because of a lack of maple syrup, even though Waitrose was a ten minute walk away. We also found that portion sizes at breakfast were not standardised. One morning you might be served three pancakes and two rashers of bacon and another morning five pancakes and one rasher of bacon. We loved the massage and spa but felt we should have been informed that the hot tub was not in use before we actually got there, as that was something we were particularly keen on as we could have been in the tub outside with our dog. We understand that the hotel is going through a transition and so the restaurant was closed but we were not told of other food options, such as the high tea, that were available. In general we loved our stay and so did our little dog

A very attractive hotel on the outside and very friendly staff. Given the 5-star rating, the main interior was quite disappointing and could do with a makeover, it was quite dated. However, the potting shed which we stayed in was much more modern, with a new interior and it was clean (except for cobwebs above your head in the bathroom!) The bed was fairly comfortable if not a bit soft though. Our night's sleep was quiet, we were not disturbed by any other guests. It would have been good to know beforehand that the hotel is currently undergoing new ownership and that apart from breakfast and afternoon tea, the restaurant was closed in the evening. The bar was also closed, although staff were happy to bring drinks to your room until 9pm. Monty our dog was treated well and spoilt on arrival with goodies, he was made to feel very welcome but a separate lounge in the main hotel has to be used with a dog. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and there are many places to sit and enjoy the sun (weather permitting). The large car park at the rear was a bonus. The spa was also very lovely and clean and the treatment I had (serenity) was amazing. However, given that the hotel advertises itself as a 'Hotel and Spa' it was rather disappointing that as a guest you were charged £25 per person to use the jacuzzi, hot tub, sauna and steam room and limited gym equipment.

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? Have already given back to the hotel direct. Mainly improvements around food
The hotel is situated in a lovely village with a lot on the doorstep (supermarket, restaurants, cafes, places to walk and attractions). During our visit the restaurant was closed for evening meals but understood will reopen again later in the year. Within walking distance, there are some lovely restaurants (Plume and Feathers for small plates of amazing Italian food and The Green) The accommodation was really lovely with some nice features; framed mirror with TV behind, Alexa, bifold doors out onto a small private terrace, little treats for the humans (complimentary sloe gin and bottle of wine) and for the dogs toy and treats.

We stayed for three nights in the Potting Shed with our little dog Tilly. The accommodation was excellent. We ate in the restaurant each evening, where dogs are allowed too. When our dinner was served, so was Tilly's - a bowl of chicken and rice, the same with breakfast, Tilly's was a sausage. The Eastbury Hotel was really pet friendly (not just pet tolerant) as some places are. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend whether you have a pet with you or not.

We and our dogs were made very welcome by the lovely staff, especially Ellie, Chris and Craig. The dogs stayed in our rooms with us, with beds, bowls and a toy provided. There's a lovely field nearby where the dogs could run about. We were made very welcome and highly recommend this hotel.

Eastbury Hotel is extremely Dog Friendly which I cannot fault (Best Dog Friendly Hotel). The Staff are also very friendly and helpful. The Jubliee Tea was excellent and a lovely end to our stay. The problem is that a vegetarian menu of 5-star standard was promised for evening meals. A recent change of head chef (not informed) meant a choice of Raw Cauliflower, Vegetable Soup or a plate of vegetables. I would not say it was 5-star dining like all their brochures showed. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Thank goodness Sherborne had good vegetarian restaurants. There was a problem with the billing in that we were charged for our Pre-booked (via PetsPyjamas) three-course meal (part of the Barking Britain Package). We were also unaware of the £40 per person limit which should be stated at the booking. After some discussion, the billing error was corrected by the hotel. All in all we enjoyed our stay and so did Reba our dog.
