“My husband and I stayed with our cockapoo Mollie and we had a lovely time. The staff were all very friendly and the room was well equipped and comfortable. We would definitely return.”

“This hotel is a perfect location in the town with lots of walks close by. The room was large and well done out, as was the whole hotel. Food was very nice too. There are lovely gardens for you to sit in. It was perfect to stay with your dog and there was a lot of well behaved dog guests staying when we were there.”

“Really enjoyed our stay. Family room was lovely and clean. Staff were friendly and nice to the dog. Only quibble would be on the food which was nice but the breakfasts didn’t have fresh fruit and the evening meals seemed over priced for the portion size. I ordered vegetarian curry which was lovely but there was hardly any rice and no naan bread so it was like eating soup with a fork. Also my husband ordered a burger and there was no extras such as coleslaw and the chips were skinny cheap looking fries. So a big disappointment when they cost £16/£18 each. Plus you have to order at the bar. The following night we ate in The Feathers over the road which is also dog friendly and similarly priced. The food here has more generous portions and it was table service. Plus added bonus kids eat free in school holidays. Most the shops are dog friendly. The hotel had a nice beer garden. We would return but would be hesitant to eat evening meal in restaurant as it felt they were cutting corners. I wondered if struggling for money a bit. No doggy treat in room”

“This is the first time I’ve stayed with my dog and the experience was really wonderful. We had a classic room which was spacious and well equipped. The hotel was so accommodating and is geared towards accommodating people with dogs. I have stayed previously without my pet and the experience was very good also. The food was great and they were happy to provide a sausage or two for my dog at breakfast time!! I would definitely recommend”
