Easy to access and more than happy with the room allocated. Downstairs room leading to a nice grassed area, ideal to let the dog out onto . Plenty of good dog walking areas. Only thing that let it down was the very poor staff attitude and delay with the evening meal. Waited 45 minutes for our meal and when enquired why we were waiting when everyone who came in behind us had theirs, were told it’ll be here in 5 minutes, no explanation, very weak apology. Food that arrived was disgusting, although burnt and overcooked it was barely warm. Obviously we had been forgotten and the food that was obviously pre-prepared had been flash cooked. We walked out of the restaurant and even though we had paid for a meal the following night there was no way we would go back. Went to the pub in the village and had an excellent meal at a fraction of the price. Would definitely return to the hotel but evening meal would definitely be a no, no. Shame really, that meal ruined an otherwise perfect weekend.

We were slightly underwhelmed by New Place Hotel, but first the good things. Stunning grounds, perfect for dog walks and plays, stuff for children and younsters as well, beautiful patio area. Amazing house. The room, in a chalet style block, was clean with tea/coffee making facilities, bed comfortable and the shower was lovely. Now the things that weren't so good. The welcome was friendly, but when we got into our room there was no doggy welcome pack. I had to go back to reception to ask for this. The room itself was in a chalet style block and very small. I'd say that it would be a challenge having a bigger dog in there. Outside the room there were used drinking glasses which stayed there throughout our stay (admittedly only one night). Walking around the grounds I noticed that the hanging baskets and planters hadn't been watered and were looking very sorry for themselves. As mentioned, you can't eat with your dog in the restaurant but you can in the bar area, which is small with few tables. We arrived around 5.30pm on a Saturday and got a table, but all the tables were full very quickly, and a couple who came in at 7.30pm with their dog couldn't find a table. Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful, it was clear that they were rushed, it just seemed as though there weren't enough staff. It must be quite an enterprise as there are wedding facilities (and there was a wedding going on), conference facilities, and over 100 rooms to service. The evening meal included in our package was good, though I'm glad it was a 3-course meal as the portions were quite small, however, breakfast was completely underwhelming. Not a lot of choice, all self service and all had to be carried a good few steps into the bar area so we could have our dog with us. Again, although the dog wash is advertised as levying a small fee, we found that disappointing as we've been to places where this is offered without charge and that includes towels. Good value, but would we return? Not really.

Apart from the obvious fact that the hotel is stunning, the general atmosphere is great; staff are very friendly, efficient and dog loving folk. Whilst the standard rooms can be a little cramped, the superior rooms are spacious and well appointed. The woodland walk is very much appreciated by my four legged friends as is the relaxed dog friendly attitude. And I have to say the food is superb. I strongly recommend the hotel

We had a 2 night break at the New Place Hotel. The place is lovely set in it's own grounds with plenty of space for dogs to run about. Dog friendly rooms were small but very clean and tidy. I do have one issue though, we were staying with dinner, bed and breakfast. But because we had a dog we were not allowed in the restaurant to eat for either meal. This was not too much of a problem for breakfast although it was a bit of a faff going to get everything one at a time. The main problem is dinner in the evening, which although I booked a time for both nights there was no guarantee of space as the bar is open to everyone and the staff didn't reserve any tables for people with dogs. Which is a problem when it gets busy. Given that we booked through Pets pyjamas we thought that and area could be put aside for all the dog owners in one of the three different restaurant areas. Apart from that we had a lovely time.

The accommodation was good although this is chalet accommodation away from main hotel which is the restaurant and bar area. We had breakfast, dinner included however the menu was limited but the staff were friendly.

Staff very friendly and professional. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable. New Place has lovely safe walks around extensive grounds, and plenty of great walks a short drive away. Would have appreciated a separate lounge area to the bar as rooms do not have chairs or much shelf space so only choice is to sit on the bed.

Stunning grounds and building, dog owners seemed to be all in separate annexe,room very tired, blocked shower,which was sorted quickly We had 3 days with no hot water so very quick showers, no info in room re wi fi, leisure centre. Swim towelsetc. Would help if info put in room.went for swim but full of babies for swim club plus jacuzzi out of action.we had 2 meals in our deal and must admit food gorgeous. Lovely breakfast,self service Grounds lovely for dogs,
