“The most dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel is full of character, situated close to the centre of town but with splendid views of the surrounding countryside and boasting a large field where your dog can roam. The staff were efficient, friendly and accommodating. The room and the premises generally were clean, spacious and well appointed. The food was very well presented and generally very pleasant (rather than spectacular). We would certainly consider visiting again or trying another dog friendly hotel in the same hotel chain.”

“This could be an excellent hotel. However, the staff were friendly but disorganised and lacked knowledge (particularly the restaurant staff). The food and drink could have better represented local produce. However, our experience on the whole was very positive and the location, rooms and hotel in general were of a high standard. We would stay again despite some negative aspects.”

“Comfortable hotel on lovely grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Lottie our lurcher was made a fuss of and she enjoyed her sausage breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend a stay here.”

“Me, my husband and our 2 cockapoos spent 2 nights at The Talbot for my husbands birthday in April. Both us and our dogs received the warmest welcome, it’s fair to say that they are definitely more than dog friendly! The hotel, grounds and food were nothing short of amazing. We’ll definitely be back for another visit. The only thing I would mention, is that whilst the staff are amazing and would go over and above for you, there is not enough of them. A lot of the time in the bar, or snug, it was hard to catch someone if you needed something. We heard some other guests say this too. Despite that, we still had an amazing time.”

Would you like to add any more feedback about your stay? A well signed pooch poo bag bin front of hotel and back in a discreet spot would be helpful

“If you are looking to take your beloved pooch away to somewhere brilliant, you MUST visit The Talbot in Malton, North Yorkshire. My Frenchie Nelson was made to feel like a VIP guest with all the attention. The rooms are superb, beds uber comfortable, a plethora of room amenities, lovely bathroom products, fantastic strong shower and deep soaking bath complete with rubber ducky. Superb lounge to sit gazing at the crackling fire. Terrific dining room and bar. The staff are fantastic all lead by the wonderful Martin. Malton is a wonderful town and a perfect base to explore this magnificent part of the world. Book now you won't be disappointed!”

“From the moment we arrived at this beautiful hotel our dog thought he was in doggy heaven! From the dog treats in the room to the beautifully presented sausage at breakfast each morning and the fuss from every person he met. For us, the lovely room was spacious with a comfy bed and powerful shower. The food was absolutely delicious and every member of staff was so very friendly. Malton itself lived up to its reputation as the UK's most dog-friendy town.”
