Hi Clare, Thank you for your review. We just wanted to clarify that the Shires Two Tone Lead Rope is designed as a horse lead rope, rather than a dog lead. Horse lead ropes are made to attach to a headcollar and are not usually supplied with a loop handle in the same way a dog lead would be. We completely understand your concern if you were hoping to use this for your puppy, as it may not feel secure or suitable for that purpose. If you would like help finding a more suitable dog lead with a proper handle, we would be more than happy to help. Kind regards, PetnPony
