I'm sure the shoes are fine ,but zero drop isn't for me, I'd never tried them before , they gave me calve issues within about 5 Miles .

I have changed from the Altra Lone Peak to the Olympus as I wanted improved grip and cushioning. I specifically wanted the fours opposed to the fives as I find they’re more roomy. The shoes have been bought for long distance hikes and although they have only been used for shorter routes since I bought them they have been comfortable and offer good grip on rock. I have awarded four star opposed to five as at this stage I’m unsure of how durable they’ll be.

Excellent product. Have already done 3 Canicross sessions on Cannock Chase in them, and found them to be cushioning well on hard trail, flexible, yet not too unwieldly for single track. Has caused me to drop my Hokas (in trainer recycling) as the smaller toe-in on these corrects an achy arthritic knee. Really, really comfortable for the older, heavier runner (me).

Great shoe but can only give a 4/5 at the moment. Still transitioning to this flatter shoe and whilst on the whole decent, I am getting foot niggles that I don’t get with Hoka’s. But a well made shoe and plenty of room in the toebox. Cushioning is comparable to Hoka’s if not better. Fingers crossed I can get them to work for me.

Love em! Excellent grip and stable. Does not feel like a big clumpy shoe on the trails.

Loved the 3.5’s. Went for the 4’s this time. The 4’s have a slightly different sole stud design, which I think offers slightly more grip than the 3.5’s. Wide Toe Box is awesome as usual- ran a few 100’s with no foot issues/blisters, which gives confidence on the start line. Heel cup on the 4’s is not as cushioned as the previous model, but is still very comfortable. Zero drop is great for me, and sole thickness rivals the Hokas - comfortable when going long. 4’s are expensive at the mo and 3.5’s offer the same level of comfort - however the 4’s offer more grip and I’m happy to pay the extra.

Curious to try something new, I was a little bit nervous too as I’m more of a ‘one shoe’ runner - those being Lone Peak from version 3-4.5. Initially thought that I’d lost the zero drop goodness of the Lone Peak but these are like Lone Peak on steroids! They are bigger, but they’re not Hoka big, though they do remind me of the first time you try Hoka. Happy to run road and mixed trails, I’d say they would be better suited to the harder packed stuff, not sure how they’d handle mud. Wet from puddles and long grass comes out in no time. Oh, and the tongue on these is really nice, great quality and solid. And the back looks ace too! Downside? Probably the price, but if they last as long as the Lone Peaks do I’ll be a happy man.

So comfortable straight out the box, ran a 10 mile trail route in the rain n mud and never slipped once, gave me the confidence to push myself harder!
