Genuine Mazda Part
Genuine Mazda original equipment replacement battery made by Panasonic. Made for the MX-5, this 32AH gel battery measures 235mm in length, by 125mm in depth and 160mm in height and has a cold crank amp rating of 326CCA.
Fits all Mk1, Mk2 & 2.5 models, 1989>2005
Please Note: As with all gel batteries, they must not be jump started. Any damage caused by doing this will not be covered under warranty. We recommend the use of a good quality battery conditioner / trickle charger such as the Optimate 4 when the car isn't being used. It is also advisable to fit a battery cut off switch to isolate it completely for prolonged periods.
Also, due to airline regulations concerning the transport of dangerous goods, we are unable to send these batteries outside of Europe by air. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are affected by this, please contact us before placing your order.

“The battery on my MX5 Mk2.5 was the same age as the car, 20 years. Over the last few months the engine was struggling to start. So I replaced the battery with this new Panasonic one which appears to be identical to the original and was easy to fit. Also the original vent tubes could be fitted. A different make battery might be difficult to fit because of the unusual clamping arrangement. Now the engine always starts quickly.”

“My car no start, battery said no. I buy shiny new battery, car go vroom. It fits in the tray and bracket nicely. Was delivered quickly.”

“I've not had a gel battery before and, despite the reviews, was a bit sceptical about it as I know NOTHING about batteries. So, not having had it long I've only given it 4 stars but with time may well have to up it to 5. However, with the battery cut off and the optimate 4 I'm hopeful that it will prove to be a success. At least it fits nicely in the boot! Thanks to staff at mx5 parts who patiently explained the pros and cons of batteries.”

“I am really glad I purchased this genuine Mazda battery. The battery that this replaced was not clamped or vented but I must say in the ten years I've owned the car it never let me down. It gave up eventually and having looked at various options I decided to but a Mazda Genuine battery. Fortunately I found the clamp and bolt minus the nut and was able to secure the battery correctly. I was surprised that the battery did not come with the vent tubes which I had to source separately.”
