Sound Pressure Level: 88dB/W.m
Carbon Mica Cone Woofer
Poly-Ether Imide Balanced Tweeter

These JVC units are the perfect replacement for tired headrest speakers. They are a tight fit, and you will need to remove some of the foam from in the headrest, but the improvement in sound quality is really worth it.

Please note: Each set of speakers are enough to do one seat. If you need to replace the speakers in both seats you must order 2 sets.

DONT BUY THESE SPEAKERS.As i read in the description, these speakers were meant to be a direct replacement for my mk1 headrest speakers. I unzipped my headrests to find that these do not actually fit in the slightest! further investigation led me to find other reviews and quite frankly, desperate attempts to make these fit. After much deliberation and having already spent way to long trying to make the door speakers that also didn\'t fit, which I also purchased from this site, I have decided to return them. I don\'t like the idea of spending ages mutilating my headrests and am strongly reconsidering purchasing anything else for my mx5 from mx5parts.co.ukEditors Note: Sorry to hear that this product didn\'t meet your expectations. It does state clearly in the description that they are a tight fit and that a small amount of the foam must be removed, but they will go in. We sell a huge number of sets of these speakers, and as you can see by the vast majority of 5* reviews, most people are very happy with them. However, as per our returns policy you are more than welcome to return them for a full refund.

great speakers, but ignore the instructions,do not use the template off the box,or you will cut way to much foam out, offer the speakers up to the headrest, and mark with a pen where the speaker frame touches the foam and cut back there.I followed the instructions for the first seat, and it takes out way to much foam. What i would also suggest is use the speaker covers, but trim back with a pair of tin snips so the fit ,and covers the speakers, this allows the speakers to breathe, and shift air,you will get a much better sound.it also protects the tweeters..I did this, and they sound better than my first attempt,so did the same to that one as well, would highly recommend,as they sound ace...

Assuming all our seats are the same(?) These are not replacement speakers - they are speakers that can be 'made to fit' if you cut out foam AND some metal from your headrest. (something I really didn't like having to do to my Eunos) Took me around an hour or so per seat to get a flush fit. I'm surprised mx5parts can't find something better - first disappointing buy I've had from them. Okay now they're in but surely something more suitable can be found?

got these last week, fitting took me about 30 mins per pair, brilliant. Can't believe the difference. Also got the door speakers, had to drill new holes to screw in new speakers . ( tip..... take your time to centre speakers before drilling new holes) Very good value and quality so don't go buying the poor 5 watt mazda ones GET THESE!!!!

Did all the reading about having to cut out some foam to fit these but I must be lucky, I just took out the knackered MX5 ones and just pushed these into the foam headrest and zipped them back up, job done, then only all thing I had to do was take off the small tabs for the screws so they fitted within the headrest.Great sound, just need to do the fronts now

Brilliant for the money and very easy to fit with the accompanying instructions, took me 20mins to do both seats. They do stick out slightly more then the standard-fit ones but you can't tell once the headrest is back together. Sound quality is miles better than the OEM speakers. Recommended upgrade for anyone still using the originals.

Great product, fantastic delivery.Fitting is incredibly easy and logical thanks to MX5 Parts instruction manual. I set aside at least 2 hrs for this fitting, as these things never go according to plan! I was done within 30 minutes.Following instructions i simply unscrewed existing head rest speakers, detached cabling, cut out foam and sited new speakers, placed cover on and zipped up headrestwell worth the money! Sound great, but be warned you will probably have to upgrade door speakers too... 93 V spec
