These JVC units are the perfect replacement for tired headrest speakers. They are a tight fit, and you will need to remove some of the foam from in the headrest, but the improvement in sound quality is really worth it.

Please note: Each set of speakers are enough to do one seat. If you need to replace the speakers in both seats you must order 2 sets.

Don't think, just buy them, I don't know why I waited so long after buying the car before getting these. Piece of cake to fit and improve the sound brilliantly. Get them. Now.

I have literally just finished fitting these speakers and just hoovered up the mess. I was concerned that they would be a nightmare to fit but they were the opposite. Simply un-zip the headrest, remove the old speakers, disconnect the exsisting wiring inside, cut away some of the foam (less than i expected) making sure to go right back to the metal spine in the seat. Then just connect the speaker wires and pop them in. A tip - bend in the mount bracket on the outside edge of the speaker when fitted otherwise the cover wont fit over the speaker. As other people have said, you really dont need to screw them in to anything as the speaker magnet latches onto the metal spine and the rest of the seat is jammed against it when you zip it back up. As far as sound quality is concerned, they are a huge improvement and i would recommend replacing the door speakers at the same time to get the best effect. Very quick delivery from MX5 Parts in a big bundle of things for my NA MX-5. Will definatley buy from here again.

Brought 2 of these as my old speakers were well past it. I was not surprised that I needed to cut some of the foam out of the headrest, (it does not take the brains of an arch bishop to see the difference between the original speakers and these). They sound good and they fit very well. I put some acoustic padding behind them in the headrest and this really made a lot of difference to the sound. Well worth the money either way!

I cant believe people are moaning about having to cut a small piece of foam out from their headrest! these speakers are not direct replacements.. which is just as well, because the standard headrest speakers are rubbish! the sound quality is 100% better with these speakers, i've fitted them in 3 MX5's so far, 10 mins per headrest, fantastic!

I was dubious about getting and attempting to install these speakers after reading some reviews but I had no trouble at all. With great step-by-step instructions from MX5Parts, I had them up and running within an hour, no bulges at all, and I've never fitted anything like this before.
