Fit well, I do feel a bit more vibration when driving compared to old stock mounts but shifting is dramatically improved.

Having tried some.70 grade polys and found my poor NA shaking it's feelings out and a surprising massive new drone from my exhaust I knew polymounts were a nono, but I lived the feeling of the gear shifts and the right engine. So I risked throwing good money after bad and bought these. Wow , what can I say fitted like stock, vibrations back to about stock mount level (I have an NA on coilovers so it's hardly quiet anyway) and more importantly the drone from my exhaust vanished again. Shifts still fill tight and the transmission tramp/movement is still gone.So if you are in doubt and like your fillings to stay in forget polys etc and grab these.

TL:DR – These are for increased torque applications at the expensive of NVH. #PREFACE#During Lockdown 1.0 I decided I would swap my ageing stock engine mounts out for these ILM competition mounts as I was starting to experience engine shudder at low speeds and significant engine movement under load and with a plan to supercharge in the future felt like they were a good purchase.#INSTALL#As mentioned by previous reviewers, annoyingly you will need to file/Dremel the mount to get it to sit snug in the engine mount bracket - it's a bit of a pain but super simple to do make sure to protect the threads on the mount. I also had trouble getting the offside engine mount into the subframe as my '03 NBFL's had a simple hole rather than slot (that was shown in all install videos) 30 seconds with an angle grinder fixed the problem though!#INITIAL OPNION#Once installed, I took the car for a swift drive in the absence of any traffic experienced slightly improved shift feel and significantly reduced engine shudder, result!#CURRENT OPINION#However, having piled 5000 miles into the mounts, my opinion has matured into dissatisfaction. The engine shudder has not in fact gone away, instead only hibernated for the summer and whilst the shift feel was still certainly improved, having used the car during weather which required the roof up, I have noticed that these engine mounts transmit significant vibration when cold idling and between 3000-3500 RPM, the latter unfortunately being the RPM band that I sit at most of the time (60-70MPH).Currently, I am undecided whether I will keep the mounts installed or opt to install more complaint mounts until my MX5 replaces my non-daily driver classic as my 'fun' car. As a 21y/o male with a love for classic cars however I reckon this might be quite a few years!I can say with confidence that these engine mounts are perfect for anyone with increased torque who is not bothered by additional NVH. Especially as my dissatisfaction stems from putting up with the vibrations throughout a reasonably lengthy B-road commute.

I wish I had replaced these when I bought my NBfl 2 years ago, but I'm glad I did before replacing the clutch which, as it turns out, is unnecessary. I've 100K miles on the clock and the old mounts didn't look that bad, but this has transformed pulling away and improved all gears. This is what my 5 was meant to be. If you just bought an old five and looking for your first mod - you found it. Seriously!Absolutely pig to fit. Be prepared for lots of wiggling and swearing. But absolutely worth it!

My 2004 NB has suffered from juddering when pulling off in 1st since I got it 6 months ago and it was also difficult to change gear accurately/smoothly sometimes. I bought these at the Ragley Hall event last weekend and fitted them this week. Installation is fairly straightforward but you will need a long extension bar. I used 2x 250mm bars and that worked ok - check you-tube for some good guides. The old mounts were distorted and several mm smaller through compression. The difference after only 2 days driving is incredible. Pulling away and changing gear is suddenly smooth and easy, much more like how I'd been led to believe an MX5 should be. Movement of the engine is visibly reduced. I was concerned about excess cabin vibration with these being stiffer, having previously fitted some polyurethane engine mounts to a Focus, which totally destroyed any refinement. However these haven't brought any new rattles and aren't noticeably different to the old ones in this regard. Totally recommend these if you're suffering similar symptoms as they have transformed the driving experience.

The mounts fit my MK2 perfectly, all in all a relaxed 4 hour job and after a spirited drive I'm very pleased with the sharper gear changes. Despite being stiffer, these mounts don't seem to transfer any extra vibration into the cabin which is a nice bonus, would certainly recommend them if your mounts need changing.
