Aluminium Pedal Cover Set Mazda MX5 Mk1 Reviews

4.6 Rating 16 Reviews
Read MX5parts Reviews

Fantastic quality pedal cover set for the Mk1. Consists of a footrest, and three pedal covers made from aluminium in a brushed finish with an anti slip top. No need for drilling, the clutch and brake cover simply slide on in place of the original and the accelerator screws on using the existing holes in the pedal. These have been designed to be as close to the original size as possible, making them far easier to use than the usual "over sized" aftermarket pedal sets. They come nicely packaged with all the required fixings. Suitable for both left and right hand drive cars.
Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk1 models, 1989>1998 with manual gearbox only.
Please note: The large photograph showing the pedal set fitted is of a Mk2 version. The pedals are the same, but the foot rest in the Mk1 is a different shape.

Look great and feel great underfoot!! Great price as well. Perfect fit and I didn't find them hard to fit on to the peddles at all. Took about 30 minutes all up including removing and drilling the footrest to get that one fitting perfectly. Accelerator fits existing holes. Recommend to anyone...

Only 4 stars because it took me over an hour to mount brake and clutch pedal. Now looks great, and i'm sure they don't escape, but how much effort!

Great looking set of pedals but not reading the reviews first I found it really difficult fitting the brake and clutch covers. the others weren't too bad to fit but there wasn't any flexibility in the covers and took me an hour to fit and had me turning inside out to get the right angle to fit them.

Good quality pedals and usual speedy deliver- as all say the footrest and accelerator are easy to fit - With the clutch and brake I used the hot water tip to soften the rubber and found that a plastic bicycle tyre lever was the perfect tool for the job - able to use it to hook the rubber over the corners of the pedals and it doesn't damage the rubber as a screwdriver might.

Like otheres have said, the accelerator and foot rest were fitted in seconds but the brake and clutch weren't as easy. I managed to fit both of these within 20 mins by spraying the bare metal of the pedals with a bit of WD40 and using a flat headed screwdriver to lever the covers on. Once fitted they really do look amazing! This was my first order from MX5 parts and the delivery time was spot on. Will definately be back again

The accelerator and foot rest were on in minutes, the brake and clutch took a while but aided by dropping them into a bowl of boiling water for a while to make the rubber more pliable. Even then its fiddly to get the rubbers completely over the pedals, but with a bit if prising and leverage they're on and secure.

They didn't come with any instructions but to be honest, it's pretty self explanatory. The accelerator and footrest were a doddle. The brake and especially the clutch took a lot of fiddling with and prising over which took ages, but once on meant they fitted perfectly and looked great. Really comfortable, non slip covers. Worth the money.

A nice set of pedals, a lot nicer than the Sparco ones I had a long time ago which were far too big and meant that when braking you also hit the throttle! The quality isn't all that bad, but not quite as good as I was expecting for £33! The fitting of the acceelerator is simple enough (once you've folded yourself into the foot well that is!) but the brake and clutch are quite difficult as the aluminium is solid (something I hadn't thought of before fitting. I was expecting it to be as easy as the standard rubbers!) and it took me a good 35/40 minutes just to fit these two! The footrest was easy enough too, just make a pilot hole with a bradle or whatever to make it easier.
