Chromed Door Cupholder Strip MX5 Mk3 Reviews

Chrome Door Cupholder In-Fill StripA nicely finished and good fitting chromed door cupholder strip. Finishes the gap half way down the cupholder. These require no tape to fix them in place, they simply click into place. They come as a pair (left and right hand) and if fitted with our cup holder trims (NC0-0026) really do finish off the interior door panel.Click here for fitting instructionsFits all Mazda MX5 Mk3 models, 2005>2008

Yes they do leave a slight gap when looked at from directly above but then how often do you do that. You will probably only buy these if buying the chrome top surrounds as well and together they do look quite good - bit like one of those travel coffee tumblers on your door.

First of all - they look great!I purchased these with the cup holder top trims. They are expensive for what they are, cheap plastic parts with a good chrome finish. They come in an Il Motorsport cardboard presentation case with the MX5 Parts logo on the lid. What percentage of the total cost is the packaging? I realise that they might be given as gifts, and the packaging is very nice, but with regard to current views about environmentally unfriendly use of packaging I would have preferred them to be in bubble wrap in a Jiffy envelope for half the price. The lower trims do not just "clip in" and it's very difficult to hold the door card out and gently push the clips in place. I broke one and used epoxy glue to keep it in place. I also used the epoxy to hold the top trims on as they didn't want to stay put.

Nice quality item, adds a touch of class to an otherwise featureless door panel. Easy to fit.

Amazed that the gap in the cup holders are already there! First few attempts resulted in very poor and loose fit! Not happy. Researched on the Internet, found the guide ( as usual, no fitting guide included in the package) then was easy to install and a good tight fit with no gaps. Why oh why, MX5Parts? Can you not provide instructions with the stuff you sell? It just takes the edge off the pleasure of receiving items and then not be able to fit first time due to lack of information. However, very happy now they are finally in place securely.

Agreed a little expensive for what you get, however fitted correctly they do look good along with the top chrome rim. Just ensure that the rear section is inserted first push in whilst using a blunt tool to push the front chrome tang over the plastic clip at the front of the cup holder eventually clips over and secures, no gaps as described in other posts, a bit difficult but worth the effort.

I have installed these cup holder trims. Frankly I am very disappointed with them. For what they cost for a little bit of plastic is rather extortionate. Plus they dont fit very good, as the clips have nowhere realy to hang on to. Thus they keep falling off. The looks effect is good however. Should be even more when the tops come into stock.

I agree with Steve Swaby's comments from 2010. I've written to both MX5 Parts and the OEM to ask for the Cupholders to be provided in Satin Finish without any luck. I would definitely purchase these and the other Cupholder trim in Satin if they were available. Do any other owners feel the same? If so, leave a comment as a Review on this accessory and perhaps MX5 Parts can arrange to get these supplied in Satin.
