Fast delivery as always from MX5 Parts. I'd have given this 5 stars had the plate been exactly the same as the photo showing it wider at the bottom than the top. That said, it's good quality and easy to fit. I can't complain about razor sharp edges as some reviewers mention. Maybe the manufacturer listened and started smoothing them off. Polished stainless steel certainly beats my old chrome washed plastic plate which cost almost as much and looked awful after 2 years.

Be careful! Lots of burs! First thing I done was press on the edge whilst unpacking. Deep cut to the finger.Besides the razor edges; looks nice...

Purchased this item to brighten up the rear end. I was disapointed with the quality and finish of the item. The stainless steel is quite thin and the edges are guillotine cut which leaves razor sharp edges both on the inside and outside edges, which I had to sand with fine wet & dry paper so as not to cut myself. The backing plate is universal with many holes, none of which match the Mazda hole centres so I had to drill through with new holes. Also this backing plate is 3mm too short to accept a UK plate so again I had to remove 1.5mm from each 'short' edge of my number plate. I then used the existing holes in the number plate to hold the whole assembly to the car. Once fitted it looks fine.

.....also it should be pointed out that the item isn't as illustrated on the website ie narrower at the top than the bottom. It's the same all round. This could matter to some.

Nice product - tidies things up at the back nicely if youre into chrome n stuff. However, I had to remove mine again shortly afterward as the new numberplate without the screw holes was printed wrong and I hadn't noticed. All I'll say is be very careful if ever you have to do this as the underside edges are very sharp. I wouldn't want you waiting in a & e for 3 1/2 hours to get your thumb stitched!!

I ordered the stainless steel version of this because it appeared to be more substantial than the chromed version. It arrived today and I fitted it in minutes. It looks fantastic. I did go out and buy another new number plate because the existing one had screw holes in it and with this surround and holder you can screw the holder directly to the body of the car and insert the number plate. So rather than have a couple of holes in the number plate, I bought a new one and it looks great. Now I wish that there was a stainless steel plinth for the front number plate!!!!!

I bought this to replace the chrome covered plastic one I bought earlier which was a complete waste of money, as it looked tarnished and started flaking off after less than 3 months. This stainless steel version is far better. I just wish I bought this one in the first place and its only £3.00 more than the plastic chrome one.
