A simple leather gearknob. Well made and well weighted. Used a previous gear know for many years and look forward to many years with its replacement.

It has a really nice feel to it, both in its shape and texture. And quality! The top round edge is more defined than the original one, and fits perfectly to wrap the fingers on top of it, and the thumb to the side. A small, but very essential boost to the driving experience of the car we all love.

I bought this in red along with the red handbrake handle. It is pretty similar to the bog standard black plastic gear knob, which is nothing to complain about really. I don't mind the bog standard one. It's just a bit ugly when it goes shiny black with age.Similar weight: standard was 200g and this is supposed to be 175g. Dimensions look roughly the same. It looks basically like a standard knob which has had some leather stitched around it. The thing that *really* let this down for me, however, is that the handbrake handle cover and the gear knob are a very different shade of red, even though they are both IL Motorsport items! The gear knob is a much lighter (not as nice) shade of red. The handbrake handle cover is a very similar red to the MK2 Limited Edition half red leather seats I have.I'm not sure if that's normal - it seems a bit ridiculous to me that the shade of red used is different when both items are from the same company. Here's (hopefully) a link to a picture of both together: https://imgur.com/a/qeignThere's nothing wrong with it otherwise, but purely for that and the fact I'm probably going to have to try dying the gear knob a bit darker red eventually, I'll have to knock it down a star... tempted to knock two off....

Ordered this in Feburary and it arrived really quickly. The quality of the product is very high. When I first fitted it I was a bit cautious and it was a little loose for the first few days. Once I had been a bit more firm with it, it fitted really tightly and has been solid ever since. Having driven with it for eight months now I can say it is really nice and comfortable, it suits both myself and my wife. I ordered it in red and it's a nice colour, not too bright, not too pink and not too garish!

Very nice gearknob. Feels nice to use. Nice height, thickness & shape. Fits the original thread so it is better than the aftermarket ones that require adapters. Only negative I'd give and it's a very, very small one, is that the leather is not as black as my gaitor, but that is being very picky :-) Very fast freight to Australia. Always good service from these guys.... Goodonya ...

Bought this gearknob about a year ago and I'm still very happy with it. Great weight and quality feel. Definitely a big improvement and a great upgrade from the cheap original plastic one. After a year of abuse the stitching is still holding up nicely. The leather is starting to get a bit 'shiney' though. Note, it;s really black. Not grey. MX5 Parts, please change the picture!

Was pleasantly surprised with the quality and better than I expected!Leather feels good although the shape and height will take a little time to become comfortable with.Slightly heavier than the OEM six speed gear knob.A great replacement and definitely worth the money.
