About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

This is a replacement for my smaller one that I'd had for around 10 years. Couldn't recommend enough!

Wanted to love it but just cannot get on with it unfortunately. It just won’t stay in place whatever I try!!

I’ve tried for 6 months and just doesn’t work. Tried many different ways and it still leaks even though it’s not full. Quite disappointed

I wish I’d discovered Mooncup years ago. I have fairly heavy periods, but the Mooncup deals with them perfectly. Simple to use and clean, it is such a refreshing change from the horrible dry feeling tampons left me with. A true revelation!!

I honestly wish I’d started using a mooncup years ago. It took the first two months to get used to putting it in and out comfortably but now I’ve got the hang of it, it is easy, comfortable and I love that there’s no waste.

I followed the instructions on the Mooncup website, so I bought a size A as I am 32 (I haven't given birth). The size is definitely too big for me, however once inserted I don't feel it so I was okay with it (although I struggled a bit to get it out in the beginning). After 3 months since I started using it I bought other 2 cups from a side brand - and I bought the 2 smaller sizes: a mini cup, which I use when my flow is light, and a small one (for those who haven't given birth) for the heavy flow days. On my heaviest day and night I experienced some leaks, so I bought a pair of period underwear just to be safe. I would never go back to using tampons and sanitary pads. Menstrual cups are great, you don't have to get changed every 2/4 hours and don't have to see blood every time you go to the loo. And is so good for the environment too!!

Hello Sonia, thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. It’s great to hear you’re a menstrual cup fan! We’re sorry however to hear you felt the size A Mooncup menstrual cup was too big for you personally. If you are still using your Mooncup® and experiencing discomfort we’d recommend that you take a break from using it for now and getting in touch directly with our friendly Advice Team, run by medical health professionals, at advice@mooncup.co.uk. They will be able to run through some questions with you regarding your experience when using your Mooncup® and from there can provide tailored support to help
I've been using the Mooncup for over a year now, and it's been revolutionary. I could never switch back to tampons. I know some people are a bit grossed out with blood but it actually feels way less gross than tampons or pads. It's a bit fiddly to get used to, and I've abandoned wearing acrylic nails because logistically it's a nightmare, but once you get used to it, it's so much better than using tampons or pads. A tip though - keep out of reach of dogs because they might think it's a chew toy.

Don’t be scared of this. It’s really easy to use! The first few attempts are trial and error but I promise when you get used to it, it will be sooo much better than tampons. I am cursed with ridiculously heavy periods and was changing tampons every hour (super plus extra) when I’m at my heaviest, my Mooncup lasts about 3 hours. And with tampons I would get so sore by the end but that’s not the case with my Mooncup. Plus you’re saving the world at the same time! ;-)
