About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

I had a different brand of menstrual cup for over a decade before switching to a mooncup, and since there were some design details that were a bit different between the 2 brands, it took a while for me to get used to a mooncup. The biggest difference is that I now need an 'over 30' cup, which really is only a slight difference in size (so perhaps that also takes some getting used to...) But that said, I have no actual criticisms about it. Like any other cup, its perfectly comfortable **if you put it in correctly!**, and I never worry about leaks **again, assuming Ive put it in correctly**. Perfectly lovely :)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience - I’m Megan, Brand Manager here at Mooncup, and I really loved reading this 🩵 Switching from one cup to another can take a little getting used to, especially with those subtle design differences - so it’s great to hear that things have settled in well. And yes, the size shift post-30 (or post-birth) can make more of a difference than you'd expect - our bodies are always evolving, after all! So glad to hear you’re now leak-free and comfy - once it’s in right, of course 😉 Thanks again for giving the Mooncup a try - and for your thoughtful, honest words. We're so happy to have you in the community 🌙
Bought a new moon cup after giving birth and needed a new size. Bought my first in 2009 and it lasted all that time. It did take a few months of practice in the beginning so if trying for the first time I’d really recommend giving it a good 6 months before making a final decision. Once I got the hang of it I found it made life so much easier and more convenient. The new one is just as good as my original which I am pleased about. Same great quality and does what it says on the tin. No frills.

Wow - since 2009! Thank you so much for being with us for the long haul 🩵 I’m Megan, Brand Manager here at Mooncup, and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate you sharing your experience. We love your honest advice for new users - it really can take a bit of time to get used to a cup, and giving yourself those few months to find your flow (pun intended!) is such a helpful tip. It’s also brilliant to hear that your new cup is living up to your original. We’re so happy to be on this journey with you 🌙
As someone concerned about the environment, I was excited to try the Mooncup for its eco-friendly reputation. However, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite its promise of comfort and sustainability, I found the fit to be painful and uncomfortable. Putting it on was quite a bloodbath, adding to the frustration. While I appreciate its environmental benefits, the discomfort and hassle outweighed the positives for me. Overall, my experience with the Mooncup left me disappointed and unlikely to recommend it to others.

I'm not sure about it. I spent an agonising amount of time trying to get the mooncup out. I had to watch videos, read information online all to no avail. I started panicking that I would need to seek medical help but eventually I managed to get it out and when I did it was very messy. Luckily I was in a private bathroom otherwise I would had made a mess everywhere. I really wanted this to work - but it's not for me, so waste of money.

Absolutely life changing, I was always scared I would prolapse my vagina with them. Takes bit of getting used to to perfect but I'll never go back

Great quality, easy to use and wash. This was my first moon cup and it took a little gettised to, but it is more comfortable than I expected.
